Snead will spend zero time on scouting QB's in free agency or the draft. Actions speak louder than words.
Very nice. Snead believes in Sam Bradford. Now that Sam doesn't have to learn a new language this year, he has the time to hone his own skills, and improve in areas that he knows he needs to improve.
Well, then, some will say he's not doing his job and it'll turn into a bash Snead movement. :neh:
Anyway. Did Devaney do this much personal scouting on his own? Or did he rely on his scouting dept? I can't really remember hearing much about him traversing the Country looking at players from small schools and whatnot like Snead does. Dude's a tireless scout in his own right, and I think that's pretty awesome.
I don't ever remember seeing Devaney at the combine, or talking so passionately about prospects. I think he let his team do a lot of the scouting. You can tell that Snead has a real passion for talking to and watching players personally.
It's interesting to hear him say, in a couple interviews now, that we decided to go after Jenkins early in the process. He was targeted.
I can't be more impressed from KD through the whole staff.
By reading and listening, I think my draft will be a changing. I'll be looking at more high ceiling game breakers. I think that I've been a little conservative. I won't be surprised if we draft an offensive and defensive lineman to "solve" those positions.
