No injuries and we don't see what some of these could do or what potential they bring to the field.
I fully expect our DL and DB depth to be better next year because of the injuries......the WR group as well.

Yeah - but The Rams found out a lot about how BAD some of these players are.Getting rid of all the players they weren’t bringing back also helped weed even deeper without worry.

I was particularly happy with some of the stuff I saw from the WR group after Kupp and Robinson were both out. The value of Eric Yarber as WR coach really stood out.

Don’t forget coaches like Zak Robinson & Greg Olson have a part in the WR’s.Wondering what WR’s your talking about.
Then there is Cooper Kupp himself as well.

My key takeaways from that one;

“When you get in a situation where you’re now relying more on players on their rookie contracts to actually be key contributors, key starters, (then) getting back to having some first-rounders, getting back to having second- and third-rounders will be advantageous,” Snead said.

Snead admitted the 2022 Rams simply weren't as deep as his previous teams, and he's eager to add depth however he can — starting with the upcoming draft in which he expects to have 10 picks, although most will be on Day 3.

That's the price of repeatedly trading high-round picks for proven veteran players in a strategy that produced five winning seasons, four playoff berths, three NFC West titles and two Super Bowl appearances over an outstanding half-decade.

We’re probably going to have to not press the gas as much, pay a little bit of the debt that we’ve accumulated,” Snead said. “As you do some of the things that we’ve done, you’re going to push some of that down the road. But we’ve been able to be competitive paying some of that debt as well. ... There are ways — not necessarily easy, but this league is not easy — and it’s up to us to be creative, innovative and to try to figure that out.”

I can hardly listen to Snead.... I've never heard someone who can say so much and come to nearly zero conclusion about what they just said.

He's tough to listen to for sure. But very smart and thorough and good at what he does. I love him as a pairing with McVay who adds the decisiveness and detail from the football side.

I think the first piece of the puzzle is going to be frugal FA market shopping. This group of FAs is not a strong one so that might make overpaying for the frugal types even stronger than usual but either way the goal will be to supplement the roster where it is weakest in order to go into the draft with some balance.

Edge is damn near as fugly as LT as a group but I'd like to see Houston brought in as a rush specialist. Just use him on third downs. Also re: OL the spot I'd target is OG because they tend to be cheapest and I'd go after a low end target like Risner. Lot of questions with him but I liked him coming out and he should be cheap compared to some others, but either way that type of approach is what I expect to see.

Need to do up an image of Snead in front of a dollar store. I think that's what's coming. Basic roster rejuvenation with maybe a few low end additions then hit the draft hard.

I mean he seems to be good at what he does...

smart? I mean in conclusion that would see to be the case... but getting "smart" from listening to him talk. I don't get that conclusion.

It's a bunch of gibberish mostly....

There's all different kinds of intelligence. Some guys are the bean counter types, the organizer types, they're not always skilled and dynamic in speaking.

Good at what he does? I think he sucks at draft evaluations. He hasn’t had good drafts since Brad Holmes left. I’d rather they had traded Snead to the Lions and promoted Holmes to GM.

Fair point. But he built good enough rosters in conjunction with McVay to win a title and almost win another. He's gotten some value out of the draft but it's been short term strangely enough. But he can claim AD and Gurley too I suppose.

Snead, McVay and all the talent evaluators need to step up big time. It's funny how you read all the posts on who to acquire and realize they can't draft and sign all on the names mentioned in other threads. From TE to Ol to CB to DE (pass rusher).

It's hard to simplify the needs but, an upgrade at OG and OC (if Allen is cut) on offense could go a long way for the offense.

Solid additions of an edge rusher and CB would do wonders for the defense.

It's hard to get that $ store imagine out of my head. They just need a few good bargains.

I often wonder how much of Gurley and AD were at Fishers demands.

Besides they were top ten picks even if they were all Snead. Think about the 2022 roster. The backbone is two players that Snead drafted. AD and Kupp. Stafford, Ramsey and Whitworth weren’t his picks and again they were top ten picks, aside from Whit who maybe should have been.

So aside from Kupp and Havenstein, how good has he actually done? Akers and Van J may or may not be good second round picks. At their peak yes, but we’ve seen their lows. He’s had two bad drafts since Holmes left. I’m not convinced.

His habit of trading back for more picks to increase the odds of hitting on some has yielded mostly duds. He passed on a generational LBer for two duds.
