Just noticed him on the team site listed on the PS. I must have missed this if this happened a while ago.

He was a real good SEC LB at Auburn.

Was not drafted in 18' although a lot of sites listed him as a 4th rounder or so.

Denver had him at Edge, I thought he might be best inside.

Claimed and waived by half a dozen teams in recent months, a product of Auburn, so you know Snead has been following this closely. The Rams need all the competition at LB they can gather with Fowler, Littleton and maybe Matthews departing.

Would be nice to see Kenny Young get some burn at MLB. Reeder is not an answer.

Jesus, I had forgotten we even traded for that guy. Would be nice if he actually played and made that trade useful.

I'm a fan of Holland and Polite. Was literally just going to post that we got Holland on our practice squad. Also, there's a Wake Forest wide receiver named Greg Dortch that we signed to the practice squad as well.

His measurables match up better inside, but if he never played there then maybe not.

Although one way to get something out of a guy who has had his chances and has not made it is to maybe think outside the box and move him inside where his size and speed make more sense.... Coach him up!

2019 NFL Draft Prospect Profile: Greg Dortch, Wake Forest
2019 NFL Draft Prospect Profile: Greg Dortch, Wake Forest

Greg Dortch 2019 NFL Draft Prospect Profile Scouting Report
Greg Dortch is one of the best age-adjusted producers in the entire 2019 wide receiver class. In 2017, he broke out with 35 percent of Wake Forest receiving yards, and a ridiculous 47 percent of the touchdowns. Dortch accomplished this prior to his 20th birthday. He then followed that up with another excellent year in 2018, upping his yardage share to 40 percent. Along the way, Dortch managed to produce some in the run game, while also proving to be an excellent return man.

Dortch has some impressive career ranks within the 2019 class:
Adjusted Age – 1st
Career Market Share of Receiving Yards – 1st
Career Receiving Yards Per Team Pass Attempt – 3rd
Career Market Share of Receiving TDs – 5th
Career Receiving TDs Per Team Pass Attempt – 4th
Career Punt Return Yards – 4th
Career Kick Return Yards – 14th

With such impressive production, why isn’t Dortch talked about more? The answer is his size. Dortch measured just five feet seven inches and 173 pounds at the Combine. Only two WRs since 2000, Andrew Hawkins and Cole Beasley, have recorded at least 800 receiving yards in a season while being at most five foot eight and 180 pounds. Only three players of such size have been top 100 draft picks: Tavon Austin, Dri Archer, and Craig Yeast.

Dortch is already an outlier. He is more productive than all of these players, especially when adjusting for age. If he has some athleticism, we can feel even better about him finding a place on an NFL roster with a shot to win a role. It is already expected that his skills in the return game give him a boost up the draft board by about a round. Dortch did not partake in drills at the NFL Scouting Combine but had his pro day on Wednesday. The results were very good.

The 3-Cone was unofficially timed below 6.9 seconds. Dortch’s athleticism is not elite, but it is above-average, and certainly good enough to keep his draft stock from cratering.

Greg Dortch Final Verdict
Dortch is someone I find myself favoring tremendously now that we know he has NFL-level athleticism. Should he find success, it will likely have to come out of the slot due to his size, but with the NFL trending towards 11 personnel as the default, odds have never been higher for such a player to pan out. Based on production alone, Dortch falls into a cohort of players that hit 200 PPR points within three seasons 50 percent of the time.
There is understandably some hesitance for taking a player of such diminutive stature, but I stand by Dortch being the most productive player of this archetype in the last 20 years. Chasing outliers is generally bad, but Dortch is unlikely to cost much in rookie drafts, making him a worthwhile gamble. Though he is slightly bigger than Dortch, I would say the Wake Forest product profiles as a better Jamison Crowder.

Crowder has struggled with some injuries in his pro career but has been a usable fantasy asset in almost every format. Dortch is also better in every meaningful way. He is younger, more athletic, and was more productive in college. I really like his chances to become a productive NFL player.

His biggest strength is pass rushing. He would get torched in coverage at ILB. He doesn't have the lateral agility.

And with Dortch the Torch we may have gotten another Tavon Austin, but this time for free rather than us spending an outrageous 1'st rounder, ... and possibly with a coach who actually knows how to use him. Wouldn't that be something.

Snead is a Timex, he just keeps on ...

I wanted him in the draft over Okoronkwo. But if developed correctly, we could have a three headed monster in Obo, Holland and Polite.

I was okay on drafting Tavon Austin. Thought he was bigger than he was though ??? There is something about his power speed which is weird ??

The thing I was so PISSED about was Snead(Fisher) traded up to get him !!!

— Les Snead got played on that one !!!!
-Trading up for Mo Alexander as well, but drafting EJ form Mizzu made up for it.

I think back in those days Snead played second fiddle to Fisher where now he's on a much more even keel with McVay. I'm more inclined to believe Fisher wanted Austin and Snead went out and got him. jmo.

Fisher want Mo Alexander for sure .
—He also made the announcement of Robinson rather than letting Snead work the phones.

Under Snead The Rams have always had success with UDFA’s ,
