23 yo Mark Williams is the Lakers new center. He's injury prone, but close to dominating when healthy. They gave up a lot for him though - Knecht, the last first they could trade, a pick swap, and Cam Reddish to balance salaries.

Lakers going all in this year. Which is too bad, I foresee Knecht as an all star. Guess they’re doing it for old man LBJ.

My understanding is that Williams is the type of center that Doncic prospers with, especially offensively. Not good from the outside, but a mean pick and roll.

Robe "Lowe" Pelinka in win now mode.

I really hate when fans say "when healthy" because it's so redundant and repeated to the point off high annoyance... and applies to any player.

But Williams has been injured way more than AD so we'll see if he doesn't miss more games than he plays.

Anybody else find it "interesting" that AD asked for a center and gets traded. Luka asks for one and he appears a couple days later. No way Jeanne and Pelinka gonna piss off what they consider to be their meal ticket for the next decade. BTW was listening to Dan Woike interview yesterday on Rogan and Rodney. He pointed out that beside the injury issues for Williams that he isn't a particularly good defender at this point. So I checked out some footage on him and can confirm what Woike said. The point being that right now he is a rebounder and clean up around the cup type scorer. Overall I cant complain about the trade because Knecht is pretty one demensional himself and you cant teach the 7 feet Williams was born with. I just think it will be a while before we can accurately access this trade.

One of your best posts @methomas50 . Someone going to need to ask Willians to play defense where that ball will be instead of where you are.

Then again with all this size, will Lakers play triangle defense? This is where they force teams to kick cross court for the open 3.

Mavs fans are pissed as it is. Then got a taste of what could be with a great night from AD. Then realized why they're pissed. They no longer have their favorite player and NBA superstar and got a guy who can never play a full season.

Luka's supposed to play tonight. We'll see how he co-exists with Lebron. And Austin Reaves who could just another star player. They just need another center to go with Jaxson Hayes. Mo Bamba and Javale McGee have been mentioned as possibilities.

@snackdaddy I thought Christian Wood is coming back. That would give them some depth at C

Not sure how much he can help. He'd be an undersized center at 6'8" if he plays that position. I think what they want is a true rim protector who can play defense and rebound. He did have a couple nice seasons with Houston averaging 21 points and 17 points. He was pretty close to being a 20 point 10 rebound guy. Can he be that guy again? He's had his injury problems.

They were using Rui last night at C. This could be a team that goes stretches without a true C like the Rockets about 10 years ago or the Warriors.

Yeah, small ball is working so far. They've been getting out to huge first half leads in most game during this run. Austin Reaves is starting to become a prolific scorer too. If they don't get manhandled by teams with good centers they can make some noise in the playoffs.

That’s what scares me. Embiid or Davis playing bully ball. With Joker or Wemby I don’t mind them trying to beat us from the outside.
