You guys talking about a choke job coming from a guy who orchestrated an offense comparable for a season to the GSOT days. Yeah I'm worried. Hopefully they don't get a QB worth a crap during the draft.
True ... BUT ... this is going to gnaw at him for a while. It's going to be stuck in his head, especially the second guessing about not running the ball when it was 1st and 10 at the 23 yard line ... it's going to mess with his psyche and affect his decision making. Martz never seemed to be quite the same guy after losing Super Bowl 36, and this was far more of an epic choke than that. Shanny didn't even have to contend with a highly biased officiating crew that let the P*ts commit pass interference at will as they did against the Rams. Simply put, he blew it.
As Kevin Costner said in that golf movie (can't remember the title now), you define the moment, or it defines you. Unfortunately for Shanahan, the latter occurred on Sunday night.
