I think that it's hard to ignore the fact that Fisher has had success taking in "troubled" players.

Players that have had checkered off field experiences in college, shall we say?

Jenkins
Tru Johnson
Ogletree
Roberson

And now the early reports on Isaiah Battle are encouraging.

Meanwhile, other teams have not been so lucky.

Gordon
Blackmon
Richardson
Aldon Smith
Manziel

These are just a few that immediately come to mind.

Not that the Rams necessarily were in a position to draft all of them. But I wonder whether some of them might have avoided their issues if they had been under the umbrella of Fisher as their HC and in the Ram clubhouse.

Hard to argue against Fisher's track record with these types of players, if you ask me.

What do you think?

I'm thinking we should give Lawrence Phillips a call now since Fisher is here, he'll straighten his ass out.

Fish has extremely strong leadership skills, there is no doubt about it. I see it as his best trait and hopefully the reason he will finally climb out of that .500 tendency with a long run at the top as our head coach.

He really does a good job though with accountability and getting through to guys. And I have to give the Rams overall credit as well for choosing the guys they can handle because not all problematic types are capable of getting it.

I also think it's college vs. adult. Like in college, you do stupid things b/c you believe to be invincible.

These guys can grow up too. I don't think they have ever been associated with consistent criminal activity either.

Totally agree.

Rams were actually pretty lucky re: Blackmon. Fisher wanted him.
We drafted #6 that year, and the Jags took him at 5. We traded #6 to Dallas for #13 and #45.
Basically ended up with Brockers and Jenkins / Pead. Dallas took Claiborne. Blackmon's a dumpster fire.

More than makes up for missing out on Wagner.
