see above, I edited to add some brief notesCliff notes on what she said?
This is not that. Nothing new on Stafford really, just some nuance and context.I read her article in the athletic - nothing really knew from what we have heard so far.
Thanks. I was done after about the third commercial.Oh, def even money on him staying or going now (Just Jourdan's opinion).
Interesting convo on Garappolo (like him, reasons to discount Raider's tenure).
Good convo on receiver options/wants in FA, on roster, and draft (they want to get faster at WR, like Whittington).
McVay may want a TE. Has historically been trying to nail that position.
She doesn't expect them to get into a bidding war for Alaric but she suggests that they are curious themselves what Alaric's market really will be.
Some Limmer, Jackson and Avila talk. Sounds like she has good opinion of Limmer. Avila fine at center but dominate at guard so moved back.
What will they do at corner. Team build is you only pay one and suggests that is Williams right now for them. Prob just look to draft there.
They don't like LINEBACKERS! She will be shocked if they invest in FA or high in draft for one. Speights okay, they need him to take a step. Could see some swings in 6th round.
Just well worth listening to it all.
I skipped the commercials and listened at 1.5x speed (Spotify). Finished Jourdan's interview in less than 20 min.Thanks. I was done after about the third commercial.
I think he was above average last year but not dominant. Hope he gets back to it.Avila dominated at G....in 2023.
He was average/below average last year. Im to worried about him, but, I agree he will likely stay at G.
Limmer and Jackson could battle for the starting C job however.
Like, limited options you like or limited options... cause there's more decent LT's this year at FA than most. Just a lot of guys that probably are only 1-2 year option. If no bidding war for Alaric, I wonder what's Plan B at LT?
Limited FA options and also limited options for immediate starter at pick 26.
I am wondering if they move on from Stafford maybe it's more likley they move on from Jackson too. The reason being it becomes a mini reset year and maybe you try to manipulate the comp pick formula for more picks next year when you might be QB hunting. Jackson might get you a 3rd or at least a 4th.Like, limited options you like or limited options... cause there's more decent LT's this year at FA than most. She mentioned Stanley. Isn’t he always injured? I get not wanting to pay big for Aleric but they are in a bad spot if they keep Stafford and sign a lesser LT.If no bidding war for Alaric, I wonder what's Plan B at LT?

The Rams got lucky with Jackson being an UDFA. It’s not always easy to get good production at OLT from a player outside of round one. It’s still a premiere position in the league. If they fool around they will just end up regretting it when they get Stafford or Garapolo injured.I am wondering if they move on from Stafford maybe it's more likley they move on from Jackson too. So you sign released players that don't count against the comp pick formula and add lower level FAs to plug holes and or keeping a guy like Brown, while letting Jackson get overpaid along with some of your other FAs.
Adds more picks next year to trade up with, and more long-term cap room to focus on your younger vets hitting gather 2nd contracts.
Just a thought.
I think it's a fair thought: I also think Jackson's just an okay tackle and has a habit of missing games for non football related reasons so I'd bet they're wary of throwing a bunch of money at him. And kinda like you imply, if Stafford is gone, why not look for a tackle of the future or sign a stop gap.I am wondering if they move on from Stafford maybe it's more likley they move on from Jackson too. Garrapolo gonna get injured no matter what you put in front of him. And does it matter in a bridge year? The Rams got lucky with Jackson being an UDFA. The left tackle situation is a bit funny. They had a crappy one that they decided to pay, now they have a pretty good one that they don’t want to pay. It’s a bit ridiculous.
