I think it was always something that Jenks wanted...to play on a big stage. LA offers him that.
I actually think it will be harder now to sign Tru. I think we'll tag or sign JJ to that $14M tier and that'll be about right because he was shut down and not many balls were thrown his way. Tru was challenged a lot because teams doubted him. Towards the end of the year, they found out that he stepped up, but it wasn't always that way. Gaines outplayed him and earned that outside spot, let's not forget that.
Thing is that in this market, Tru is more of a prototype. And with those INT numbers, he might get a team like the Raiders who try to put him above that $10M bracket. How does a player say no to extra millions? I mean, it's possible, but I can't ding a player for switching teams for the money. After football, it all spends the same.
My big hope is that the Raiders try to make Josh Norman the richest CB in the league and we can sign our guys to $14M and $10M deals. Those would be the going rates for top CBs. Expensive, but in a passing league, they're as important if not more important than a pass rush.
