Jared Goff's Hidden Talent Exposed!

Jared Goff's penchant for pooch punting or quick kicking was totally lost amidst the brouhaha and hoopla surrounding the 2016 draft.

For the uninitiated, a quick kick is a punt made under conditions such that the opposing team "should not" expect a punt. Typically this is a punt from scrimmage from a formation like the shotgun that is, or resembles, one usually used other than for punting, or at least not resembling the one usually used for punting. In the NFL most quick kick punts are attempted on 3rd down.

Randal Cunningham attempted 20 quick kicks during his NFL career. Ben Roethlisberger has quick kicked 5 times.

Golden Bear Jared Goff quick kicked 12 times during his college career, including a Pac 12 high of 6 pootch punts in 2015. Our golden gunslinger Goff is great at coffin corners kicks, thus forcing opposing teams to jump start drives with their backs against the wall of their own goal line. Goff has an extremely accurate arm and leg, as well he should since the Ram's gave up an arm and leg for Goff. I'm not complaining even though Eve only cost Adam a spare rib.

At Cal, Jared Goff punted 12 quick kicks for a total of 452 yards and a 37.7 yard per punt average.

I scoured YouTube for a quick video of Goff's quick kicks, but alas I couldn't find any. I'm not as computer savvy as many of you guys. ( Any Roderator who can post the video directly to this thread, please do so....

When you got the best punter in the game on your team I doubt you have the QB kicking to much but it wouldn't surprise me with Fisher.

Nice stats Ramsey. I knew what Hekker was talking about. There were some pouch punts in Goff's game videos. There shouldn't be much need if GZ is the FG kicker with JH the punter for Goff to quick kick the ball. Although, you never know with Fisher. I guess when it's 3rd and long at the 45 or 4th and 3 or less at the 45 it could happen.
