Giants cornerback
Janoris Jenkins left Sunday’s victory over the Lions after taking a knee to the back and
went for tests to determine whether he suffered any organ damage as a result of the blow.
It looks like the results brought good news for Jenkins on that front. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Jenkins
should be OK after avoiding an internal injury.
As
PFT reported on Sunday night, the hope is that Jenkins won’t miss any games. That could be complicated by how quickly the Giants are going to be back in action, however.
The Giants will be in Philadelphia on Thursday night, which may be too soon for Jenkins to make it back onto the field. They’ll have 10 days before their Week 17 game, although that one might not matter much. The Giants are in strong position for a Wild Card and their chances of winning the division will disappear if the Cowboys beat the Lions next Monday night.
UPDATE 2:56 p.m. ET: Jenkins told Josina Anderson, “
I’m good, I’m fine” after the tests on Sunday.
