He just turned 31, is 6' 1", 210 lbs, and has lots of experience. Plus I don't recall any scandal associated with him.

James Jones to NFL teams: If you need a WR, come get me

The Raiders parted ways with wide receiver James Jones in May after one year with the team and we haven’t heard much about the receiver drawing interest around the league since then.
Jones is trying to change that. He spoke to Josina Anderson of ESPN and said that the Seahawks, Giants and Chiefs all made inquiries last month after his release in Oakland. Nothing has materialized with those teams and Jones wants the rest of the league to think of him if they are in the market for help at wideout.
“I’m not retiring. I still want to play. If you need a wide receiver, come get me,” Jones said.
Anderson points out that Jones was one of three receivers 30 or older with 70 catches and six touchdowns last season (Roddy White and Steve Smith were the others), but his average of just 9.1 yards per catch takes some of the shine off of those numbers. He’s still one of the more experienced receivers on the open market, however, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see someone bring him into camp to round out their receiving options.
--------------
Definitely a class act and underrated WR. His YPC is probably more about the rookie QB than his own skills.
------------
I actually feel bad for Mr. Jones. People forget that this dude led the NFL in Touchdowns in 2012. He came from homeless shelters in California to the Packers in the 3rd round. Had a nagging issue with drops, but started at least 10 games in each season he played.
He went from the third option in Green Bay to the first option in Oakland, back home, where he helped a rookie quarterback get accustomed to the NFL. Then they released him. He is a veteran presence on a team and he’s just over 30. As a Packers fan, I really want him to get signed and succeed because this guy always plays his heart out.
---------
I always liked Jones as a Packer. Off the field he seemed like a humble, high character individual. On the field he could be a bit maddening at times. He seemed to be a much better athlete than other receivers. One minute he’d make some utterly ridiculous, circus catch… and the next minute he’d flat-out clank a “gimme” ball.
I hope he catches on somewhere.
---------
Was an absolute class act in Green Bay. Even led the league in TDs one year. Thompson offered very little and he took more money in Oakland, no harm no foul there.
He’d be playing if these rookie receivers the past few years hadn’t been so productive. You’re far better off taking a flier on a young rookie than a player on the decline at WR at this point in time.
Wish him the best. He’s an excellent human being.
