After spending parts of 3 days in St. Louis league sources say Jake Long scheduled to leave town his afternoon. At this point still no deal.

Not that I was a huge fan of the Jake Long situation with the Rams. But man what a bummer for him to leave with no contract after all this time. Unfortunate for the Rams because while we were putting all our eggs in one damn basket, a lot of the solid rest of the FAs have been scooped up. smh. Not good.

I learned about the "Tweet" button last week, and found that it's a great feature. Just use the tweet-codes. For example....

Code:
[tweet]312600720564183041[/tweet]
[tweet]312600720564183041[/tweet]

Code:
[tweet]312600979361103874[/tweet]
[tweet]312600979361103874[/tweet]

As far as Long goes, I say we still get him.

I have seen FA's leave the Rams to visit other teams and then come back to us. However, I wonder if Fish will look at Vollmer or just build around Rodger?

I didn't realize. He seemed to be rated even higher than Jake at the start of FA in some corners so I assumed he was a LT.

I doubt any of the blue chip LT's will fall to us in the draft so the most we could hope is to develop someone like Chris' younger brother. A Long way to go about getting still another Long.

Amid reports the Miami Dolphins are making a "strong push" to re-sign Jake Long, the free-agent bookend tackle is reportedly scheduled to be on his way out of St. Louis.

Citing league sources, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Long's three-day visit with the St. Louis Rams will come to an end Friday afternoon minus a deal in place. Sources told Thomas the Rams have competition, with "multiple teams" showing interest in the four-time Pro Bowl selection.

With Miami signing weapons on both sides of the ball, the Dolphins -- reportedly with $17 million in cap space after signing tight end Dustin Keller -- can still make a push to re-sign Long. The Rams reportedly were "hammering out a deal" with the tackle, but that process grew lengthy, partly because of Long's injury history. How much do you fork over to a player with a trail of back, shoulder, biceps, triceps and knee maladies?

Long was cleared medically by the Rams, but the Dolphins haven't given up on re-signing him, and likely can come closer than the competition to the reported $11 million per year being sought by the tackle.

With St. Louis having burned through the first three days of free agency in hopes of landing Long, they now watch as the lineman exits on a jet. This should get interesting.

His wife apparently posted a picture on Instagram or whatever comparing weather between Miami and St Louis.... Getting a little silly now. Really seems like they're trying to use the Rams for leverage to get more from Miami. If that's the case, makes her teasing pretty messed up.

I hope the Rams don't crack and overpay for this guy. Saffold played really good last year so I could care less if Long leaves.

I want to solidify the line, but I don't want to break the bank to do it.

There are other tackles out there far cheaper.

Dear Jake, if you don't want to win, go back to the Dolphins.
