.............I may have to eat crow about McVay.
Just after his hire, I said I thought this job was too big for him....
I may have been wrong........time will tell but Indeed, I may have to eat crow (happily) after all......

I think McVay needed the Rams more than Rams needed him. I'm not sure Rams really had to negotiate when they made the hire. Was any other team going to take a risk on the kid? Was McVay really interested in any other gig?

I know the offense has gone through a semi renaissance(still to early to call it a slam dunk) but most of our talent has been in the league, starting games and playing together for too long not to perform at a competitive level.. Any competent coach should be able to compete for a division with the roster we have.

I hate admitting it but Fisher was as bad as many of you shouted. I refused to believe the amount of blame on Fish was warranted. I really wanted to win with him - but the lack of veterans on the roster throughout his tenor combined with his stubbornness and arrested development just wasn't going to work.

If this team wins 10+ games i'm going to be proud of Ogletree, Saffold, Quinn, Donald, Barron, Joyner, Tru, Brokers, Hekker, Gurley, Tavon and Snead more than McVay. I don't comprehend Xs and Os. I never played the game. So i'll save my empty assessment.

I refuse to get emotional about the hire until he gets fired/self implodes ala McDaniels with Denver or signs his first contract extension.I hope he coaches in LA for the next 17 years.

Everything McVay has done thus far has been off the charts and his coaching staff is amazing as well, still many games to be played and as a play caller, please do not abandon the run so early and Gurley can catch passes too.

I think it was very fair to wonder whether he could do the job... I wondered.

First time HC... very young... huge job.

But, when he hired that staff, I could see that he understood his limitations (unlike our prior HC) and that gave me some sense of optimism.

I have to say, though, that I did not see this coming.

So far, so very good.

I think McVay will be the Rams HC for a long time. Not five years of losing long, but a decade or better of winning long. IMO he was the perfect HC to hire with the franchise coming back to LA and trying to recapture the fanbase.

I think this was part of the approach....hire a young guy and mold the team to him. Use the model used in Pittsburgh with Tomlin. Switching a coach out every 10-15 years as opposed to every 3 seems like a dandy plan.

Wasn't Fisher hired in his 30's lasted a very long time from Houston to Tennessee...
He was mediocre. Sean McVay is not, hope he is a dominant coach for years to come. A tenure like Fisher had but more wins.

You are CORRECT !!!!

Exactly right, not to mention wins....which is why I argued for more O back in the Spag's era when most or many (thought) a stellar D would suffice.

It's been a long, long wait. :violin:

Without getting into X's & O's, all those guys including Snead were around last year. Last year was 4-12, with the Whiners creaming us twice.

Rams make one change. They busted out their stroller, set up the crib, rolled in McVay and look what happens. Finally, a guy who actually cares about winning a game!

Coaching these days is huge in a league full of parity. I think it's ok to go ahead and add McVay to your proud list. He's 1st on my list!
