The Broncos are coming off a come from behind win on the road - they were down big.
Odd timing for tanking musings imo.
Against the Bears. Who gave the game away. Right now they seem like 1A and 1B and 1C with the Panthers for first pick in the draft.

I just expected more from Payton and the Broncos. Maybe they will find it.

Yeah, but they won

Yeah, but they won
What would a tanking team do? Throw an Int on every play? They couldn’t make it that obvious. Even the ‘Colts suck for luck’ season wasn’t that obvious.

They did recently get 70 points scored against them. That’s about as bad as it gets.

Plus the second overall pick could still get them Drake Maye.

I guess I just expected them to play better overall.

He ain't tanking, he's just not a great coach. Went to and won 1 SB with Drew Brees in 15 years, enough said. McVay could have won multiple Super Bowls with Brees at the helm.

Well maybe - since Brees has more mobility than Goff but damn I still say Blythe cost us a lot of games in 2019 and 2020

And would Brees have been able to move around with a Blythe at center

I was actually referring to a "what if" scenario of McVay coaching the Saints teams for 15 years. I understand he would have been too young to be a head coach then but that's the point I was trying to get across, sorry for the confusion.

Quite Frankly of all the teams to land on, I would prefer that Caleb Williams end up in the AFC and with the Broncos and Seany Peyton, that is fine with me.

Blythe is HC's fault. Everything that happens on the field is HC responsability. No excuse

Interesting reports coming out about the state of the Broncos. Apparently, their HC is intentionally driving wedges within the locker room as he's been seen yelling at their QB. Wilson isn't his QB and it's obvious he would love to be drafting in the top 3 next year. Words like imploding locker room are being toss around.

The Pats are a dumpster fire, the Broncos are as well. But more than anything it appears that the Denver dumpster fire was self ignited intentionally. I've always disliked the Broncos because I personally loathed Elway, that's how far back it goes. I knew him when he was an entitled teenager in Granda Hills.

So all I can say is burn baby burn.

So those who want to see what tanking looks like just look at Denver.

The losers and their current QBs....

Carolina 0-fer 5 weeks.....Young #1 pick in 2023
Denver 1-5...Wilson.....ahead of the rest by 1/2 game...until today
Chicago 1-4......Fields.....is the experiment over?
N.England 1-4......Mac Jones.....experiment over?
NY Giants 1-4.......D. Jones......recently extended
Arizona 1-4........Murray.......experiment over?

Chicago owns Carolina's 1st round pick. So right now, they have #1 and #3. Is Fields the answer?

Brees kept Philip Rivers, the Chargers top 5 pick, on the bench for 2 years.

I'd say he was pretty good before he got to the saints.

.
2004 he was Comeback POY and #5 in Offensive POY, 11-4 as a starter. The Chargers had the 5th best record in the NFL with Brees.

Both Belichick (67-84) & Payton (10-13) are under .500 without Brady and Brees.

Or is it showing he has nothing left in the tank?

The hyperbole surrounding Caleb Williams is ridiculous. I have only seen him play a handful of times, and I see the obvious arm talent in the way that he can throw from different angles and such..... But jeebus....he is not a perfect prospect at ALL in my eyes.

100%
Brees was a stud for San Diego in his last 2 seasons and there was pretty much a bidding war for Brees between Saints and Dolphins. If not for a shoulder injury (that prooved to be a non starter) many more teams would have bid for his services.
Brees was surely playing at an "all pro" type level when he arrived at the Saints front door step. Payton had it made, and still had 6 non winning seasons with Brees at the helm
Over rated coach for sure

Yeah. Brees was good in SD.
The main problem, was that he was getting killed by bad oline play.
