I thought the announcers sucked during the Rams game then I watched some other games and they all sucked!

I know Trent Green played for the Rams at one time but he must hate them the way he continued to talk about the Bengals. I had to hit the mute button after the first 12 minutes of the game. Do we really need these ex-players doing color commentary during the games? Just tell us what happened on the play and leave out all the drama, this is the NFL not daytime soap opera.

They’re so badly biased every game, and that doesn’t help the narrative that the officiating is biased as well.

At least it wasn't Booger McFarland. He is by FAR the worst. I refuse to listen to that kook period... MNF has been basically ruined by BSPN and that dickweed.

It's amazing that many of these guys are paid for their constant mistakes in the booth. The thing is... I don't think the average fan even notices the mistakes and outright stupidity some of them spew throughout every broadcast.

I like to think that we are above average compared to most fans. lol

The ratings sure aren't affected... so they stay in the booth pretending. Now that every single game is a TV event... I guess it's much harder to find enough real committed talent to cover them all.

Not sure what we can do. Complaining via social media seems to be somewhat effective if enough mobsters get behind something. Other than that... hit the mute button and do your own color commentary.

Nearly every team calling a game.....
Main dude.....

“Star player really is great in these situations he reminds me of star player when he played with that other star player.
2nd and seven....star player on the defense makes the tackle!!”
Meanwhile the star player on D is not in the game.

Color announcer

“They ran there Joe and didn’t gain yards. They could have passed and maybe gotten yards.”
Next play in an incomplete pass
“Joe, they are just passing too much. You can’t abandon the running game.”

Always mentioning only star players is what I call the Stockton affect. It’s lazy and thoughtless and all that Dick Stockton does. Can’t count how many times he credits a tackle or sack to the wrong guy just defaulting to a teams pro bowl DL/LB.

The worst is Jim Nantz.
His variety of the star player approach is always working in Brady. Doing a Bears Vikings game for example he will manage to work Brady in 10 or 12 times.
Obsessed.
It’s disturbing.
“Hey Dan, I was banging my wife last night and was thinking of Tom Brady....”

Almost every colour guy is basically just saying the team on O should have done the opposite of what they ran or just restating what we all saw.
There are a few exceptions. Aikman offers some insights. Always about or from the QB perspective but at least it’s something.
I enjoy Romo as well sometimes.

They should sync the TV and radio broadcasts so fans can watch and then listen to their team's announcers well versed with their team.

The refs hate the Rams. The media hates the Rams. The announcers hate the Rams. The rest of the NFL hates the Rams. Talking heads hate the Rams.

Everyone hates the Rams.

OH NO PEOPLE ARE SAYING THINGS ABOUT MY TEAM THAT I DON'T LIKE!!!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, Green probably hates the Rams. Just look at him saying that Brockers' supposed "roughing the passer" was a penalty, while the hit to a defenseless receiver in Cooks wasn't.

I love Romo, though. He usually shoots straight, and you get real insight with him.

The last announcing crew sucked as well, especially on the fake punt by Hekker. Didn't even know who Nick Scott was.

I dont like them either but the soft stories have a purpose. It provides a means for casual viewers, particularly women, to be invested in the game or a player, and the public eats this shit up. Thats why all the talent shows and others like American Ninja Warriors spend ALL of their time on the background stories and not the actual event.

So how many of you caught Bryant Gumbel calling Andy Dalton "Goff"? We did at least two times. "Goff throws to his right, caught for a first down for the Bengals". I kid you not.

After the second time he called him Goff, there was a long silence. My guess was the producer was yelling in his ear to call the right player.

Geeze, not even on the same team!

100%. Sap stories are annoying, forced, and pointless. Like I don't care that you did this for some crying kid that was posted on twitter by some parent trying to get attention.

And sync it with porn when we know we are about to get f**ked by an official.
