So I taught jujitsu tonight and got done around 7pm. By the time I got out of the shower to watch the game it was almost 8pm. So me being me I couldn't help myself and looked up the score with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter. The game was over.

So being that I already knew the outcome of the game I decided watch the game regardless. I wanted to see what and how it happened without getting emotional about it.

Truth is it was a really bad decision to start three new offensive linemen tonight. They looked completely out of rhythm and had zero business being on the field. Our backups were overachieving and mcvay reached on this decision. Plain and simple he made a mistake starting these guys. Truth is I'm not even advocating that he pull Jackson, Avila and boom. He has to play them and ride the storm until they have some time as a unit. Then he can then make an educated decision on what pieces to move. Obviously Noteboom will be replaced when Hav gets healthy (hopefully next week).
I saw in another thread that mcvay should cut boom after his performance tonight. I actually agree with that. Boom was awful, he was in wrong stances on different plays and got bullied by a no name defensive line. He is the weak link and it's about time the rams start making some noise in the offensive locker room.
The play calling tonight was completely unimaginative. It was predictable and sloppy. Again no flow to it. Every time they would make a positive they would just do something stupid like fumble, give up a sack, throw an interception, a bad snap, false start, a tipped pass, miss an open RB in the endzone, you get the point. Bad execution has one one finger to point at. McVay. While I love mcvay, he completely underestimated the importance of continuity and actual playtime. Jackson has a handful of snaps this season and almost zero experience playing center in the NFL. Avila played a game and was out for an extended period of time after he played all off-season at center then switched back to guard a week before the season started. I can understand the decision to bring them in to get their feet wet but at what cost? A game? Two games? We were .500 not a one or two loss team. Completely bone headed move by Mcvay.

On the flipside our defense looks much better with Rose at MLB and speights playing on running downs. Speights even flashed one a couple of screens.
Brown is becoming a Stud. Verse is a stud, and Turner is a machine. Our backend needs some work but that will come with time. I didn't expect our defense to be carrying our team at all this year. What's more unfortunate is it's being wasted and making it harder on a young defense that's giving our offense ample opportunities to put up points and failing to do so. Which is leading to our defense being on the field a lot longer than youd want them to be. They're gonna be exhausted by years end if this keeps up.

While I'm disappointed by this loss I did see some good things on offense. Kupp is still a stud and puka needs to shake the rust off or he isn't 100% yet. Williams is a great running back but he needs to refocus at times. Stafford is just like Williams, he'll wow you then throw a turd of a pass for no reason.

I don't see this loss as a back breaker but the rams need a get right game, we haven't had one all season. I fear until we see that game we won't see what we were all expecting to see this off-season when everyone had high hopes.

Game started at 01:20 here and I only watched the first quarter. I’ll get around to watching the whole game later on today, even though I know that it ain’t gonna be pretty.

We should get Hav back next weekend. So here's the OL they should go with:

Jackson / Avila / Limmer / Dotson / Havenstein

I am sure that Jackson can settle in with enough snaps, but if he isn't making good calls then that puts more on the QB and there's more miscues and shit. So start Limmer and bring Jackson along in practice until he's got it down and you feel great about him. Give him some time.

If they do just elect to start Jackson then we gotta hope he gets up to snuff quick. Maybe this game will serve as motivation for him.

I was shocked that the Rams started three different O linemen at the same time last night.

I was more shocked at how bad those OL played. And then the coaching staff continuing to play said sucky OL. Bad decision making all around
