Toucher & Rich Explore How The Patriots Are Winning Coin Flips At ‘Impossible’ Rate
Toucher and Rich

BOSTON (CBS) — The Patriots have won 19 of their last 25 coin tosses. This has caught the nation’s attention.

“For Bill Belichick, Patriots’ strategy is no flip of the coin,” reads the Boston Globe headline.

“Lucky or good? Patriots winning coin tosses at nearly impossible rate,” said Yahoo.

“Patriots have no need for probability, win coin flip at impossible clip,” CBSSports said.

Obviously because this is the Patriots, a simple explanation like “that is the potential nature of a 50-50 probability” just doesn’t cut it. That’s because, according to CBS Sports, the probability of winning it at least 19 out of 25 times is 0.0073 — less than three-quarters of one percent!

Clearly, something more must be going on behind the scenes (Ernie Adams, anyone???), and Toucher & Rich weren’t afraid to throw out some possibilities.

“Maybe [Robert] Kraft smooches the coin beforehand, and then it’s weighted on one side,” Fred Toucher said.

“What you don’t know” Rich Shertenlieb said, “is that right next to Ernie Adams is Criss Angel, the mind freak. And what he does, they have an in-house magician. It’s Doug Henning. Maybe Ernie Adams is actually Doug Henning, and he’s just older now.”

“That’s why it says pink stripes. It’s a distraction,” Rich said.

“His ultimate illusion,” Fred said, “was becoming Ernie Adams.”

Case. Closed.

I know I'll catch grief on this, but I wouldn't doubt they have found a way to cheat the coin toss. I would put absolutely nothing past these guys.

I love it. Everything they do is scrutinized as possible cheating. And deservedly so.

Or, it could just be the hand of God helping the annointed one. :)

Speaking of cheating, as noted in other posts, it's entirely possible that deflategate wasn't so much about making a more catchable ball, but on preventing fumbles.
Did some quick incomplete research on 2015 fumbles (assuming properly inflated balls):

Rams have 10 so far, 4 by Foles.
Bills have 13, 5 by their QB's.
Fins have 11, 7 (!) by Tannehill (only lost 2)
Jests have 8, 2 by Fitz (3 by B. Marshall)
Cheats have 7 so far, 3 by Brady.

I'm starting to wonder who was most concerned about fumbling the ball: the Cheats' RB's, or their QB???? Did Brady ever have a sack-fumble that cost the Cheats a game?

Edit:
Just in case anyone thinks the Cheats have just been better than other teams at not losing the football:
Steelers have 5 total fumbles, 0 by B.R. (!) 2 by Vick.
Steelers opponents: 16, wow.

Bollochick rubs their chosen coin side (head or tail) on Brady's balls to deflate them, and I've not made it up, a friend of an acquaintance of mine has seen the video on YouTube...

Link coming soon ;)

As crazy as it sounds I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow got their hands on the official game coin and somehow tainted it with one side weighing more than the other. Sounds cynical but I could see them pulling an Ocean's 13 on the coin... Hell, the whole league for that matter!

Or the hand of Satan. . . ;(

The site's quote function and other features aren't working. . .

I think that was actually brought up during deflate gate early on. I think they Pats only had like 74 fumbles the last 7 or 8 years, which was like 30 or 40 less than the next team. Not exact numbers, but it was an obscene disparity.
