Detroit loved Matt Stafford. They gave us a few things to enjoy over on reddit. Now I know we are all split down the middle on this trade. Regardless how you feel Matt Stafford is our QB now. Lets take a moment to get to know him through the eyes of the fans who have cheered him on a decade.

@XXXIVwin you convinced me to start this thread:beer2:

That was great.

Super funny, heartwarming and endearing.

Love the transition from Frat Stafford to Dad Stafford...

And also love what a good husband he was to his wife when she had brain surgery last year. That shows tremendous character.

One thing is clear - we have acquired a terrific person and a terrific leader. Lets see if the play matches it.

Stafford will look great in horns. The Rams finally have a true franchise QB. Now they need to concentrate on improving the team around him. Kicker solved. A 4.2-4.4 WR, an above avg center, and an inside LB that can fly from sideline to sideline thumping ball carriers are the top needs.

Funny how the top 2 touted rookie QBs in the 2016 season have been relegated to trade bait. Kinda like, well, 2015 with Mariota and Winston. There still isn't a clear winner from each year, though we thought we had one with Goff, who became a disappointment around the same time as Wentz.

As I was feeling back in 2016 with those 2 top QBs from the draft, I hope both Stafford and Goff do well in their debuts in the upcoming season. Would like to see both teams happy with their trades overall. But in order for the Rams to really win this trade, Detroit needs to have both those 1st round picks in the very high 20s low 30s, for starters.

Bumping this thread because the Detroit fans' love for Stafford is epic.

Please watch the "RILEY!!" video, below. You will absolutely get pumped for seeing Stafford in a Rams uniform.

The toughness, the leadership, the insane skill, the football IQ, the way he's loved by his teammates... it's all here.

(And the "Rileyy!" part is freaking funny!)

Enjoy.

The beginning where he was with the players on the sideline is the shit I love and I feel like we've really missed.

The touchdown is hilarious because it's a choice he makes himself and isn't a called play. Even when he's spiking the ball the offensive line is just standing there trying to figure out wtf just happened lol.

Let's be clear - while the trade wasn't my favorite and the circumstances were not how I would have liked for it to go - I am excited about Stafford as a Ram. I just hope he's great for us and for a long time.

I like continuity. I know the cliche about the acronym for the NFL being Not For Long and all that but as a fan, I like continuity. I want to draft guys, hold onto them and watch them succeed. I'm good with trading for good players but I like it when I can get to know these guys stories.. I prefer this game that way.
To everyone who every player is easily forgotten - hey, you do you.

Yup! Another reason I love this video.

That was ALL Stafford, his teammates didn’t know he was going to do that. The center just kinda stood up, and Stafford had to jump OVER him to get it in.

Not many QB’s would have tried that and pulled it off.

Yeah, we are going to absolutely love Stafford.

The gamer aspect he brings will be fun to root for! What a great start to the off-season!

(1) Legendary unedited Mic'd Up segment vs. Cleveland, where rookie QB Matthew Stafford separated his shoulder and still threw the game-winning TD, thus endearing himself forever to the city of Detroit. (Alternate version with more clips and even more epic music)

Some good stuff in the Alternate version including:
@1:36 Stafford's reaction to a play Linehan drew up -- "that might work". Don't ever remember anyone saying that.
@2:14 tapping his O-linemen's helmets in the huddle (with the D watching), to help sell the play fake.
@2:55 sure looks relaxed and fluid moving around the pocket.
@4:02-end: not the stuff that shows up in stats, but teammates notice.
@5:25 #23, bang, right on the bad shoulder, jerk!
