He's recovering from a hamstring injury but is only 28 and could be stashed away for when he's totally recovered.

Giants release Trindon Holliday from injured reserve

The Trindon Holliday era has ended in New York. There was one?

The Giants have released Holliday from injured reserve, per a league source. The Giants had placed Holliday on IR in August.

The move allows Holliday to sign with any other team, assuming he’s healthy. The diminutive specialist has had some major performances in the past, including a pair of return touchdowns for the Broncos in a double-overtime loss to the Ravens in the 2012 postseason.

We don't need a return man, we traded up for the best one 8th overall.

He's an elite kick returner in my opinion. Much better than anybody we have. I'd pick him up no question if he's healthy.

Why are we telling Fassel, we should tell Snead, unless Fassel was really the mastermind this whole time.

Yes, the cat's out of the bag. Fassel was the mastermind the whole time. :heh:

I imagine Fassel's job could be hanging by a thin thread so a couple of TD's could bail him out. Btw no one on this team is getting the job done on kickoff or punt returns so why not take a chance?

It's hard to reserve a roster spot for a pure returnman. I'd rather just see Tavon on kick returns. But I can understand their reluctance. What I don't understand is why a guy like LaMarcus Joyner isn't out there. He was actually a pretty solid KR in college. At minimum, I'd give him a shot over Givens. That all said, I thought Bennie Cunningham did a pretty good job of kick returns against Philly.

I agree, low risk, high reward. Definitely wouldn't hurt to have Holliday on KR and Austin on PR. Never liked Austin on KR as many did here, Austin's bread and butter is his elusiveness. He had the sheer speed to do KR in college, but I don't think he has the speed necessary for them in the NFL.

I'm not sure why any team would need a kick returner in Goodell's NFL.
The kickoff/kickoff return play has been nullified, neutered, neutralized, nerfed, weakened, negated and pussified. It used to be one of the most exciting plays in all sports...now its on par with the extra point try.

Penalty flags and kneel downs. Yay!

Devin Hester would be worth it.

We haven't had a kick return for a touchdown since....drum roll please....2005. Who you might ask? Why none other then the infamous DB, Chris Johnson.

I loved Holliday coming out of college as a returner and was confused as hell when the Texans released him. He was great on Denver but just fumbled too much.
