MNF severs ties with HW Jr. over an analogy???? Really? The MNF stiffs really have PC shoved that far up their asses that they can't decipher what Hank actually said?????? Pathetic how spineless the suits have become over there. :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:

I agree it's stupid, but I don't blame ESPN. They have an image to uphold, Hank Williams isn't new to this game, he knows what he can and can't say, should and shouldn't do. Just like when Mendenhall lost his sponsorship over his Bin Laden tweets. As a sponsor, they hold the right to drop their client in order to distance themselves from any comments they make. Hank Williams Jr. should have thought about what he was saying before he said it. Plus he sounds stupid anyway, our two political parties shouldn't work together because they're 'enemies'? That sounds like a great way to run a nation.

Exactly right do not blame them one bit. Whenever someone uses Hitler's name in a sentence it is always gonna sound bad. He knew what was coming imo

Williams Jr. is an idiot. He should have compared Obama to someone who was actually, you know, a socialist. Maybe Maximillian Robespierre is a better comparison. BSPN probably wouldn't know who the guy was, and he still would have gotten his point across - that is, if he even had a point.

People get fired or lose contracts all the time in the real world for less. I was sick of hearing that stupid song anyway.

No, he wouldn't have gotten his point across because you are right, ESPN would not of had a CLUE what he was talking about from the indoctrination they probably got in school. He had a simple point. I guess it was too simple for the simpletons to decipher.

I was gonna say, well he blew that out of the water, but Tennessee might like what he said.

The bigger question now is whats the new MNF theme gonna be?? I heard they dont plan on doin much until the season is over and arent they having the new theme be something with former players? Isnt Barry Sanders doing the opening for Bears/Lions?

When looking for a new musical theme I think they can move away from the "are you ready for some football?" lyrics. Thats synonymous with Hank Williams.

Yeah, I was wondering that myself. The line, "are you ready for some football" was about as great of an opening line that I have ever heard, and I HATE country music. It will be hard to top that. I hope they don't bring in someone and just redo the song with the same lyrics. Stuff like that never works.

Or worse yet, bring in a pop star to make a new one. The new song needs to be bad ass and NOT rap.

No rap? That's taking half of the fun out of everything.
