I'm not exactly sure, but I think if a player starts the regular season on the pup, he can't come back until week 6. This may or may not have some ting to do with it.
If we go into the regular season healthy, it won't hurt having him on the 53 the first couple of weeks.
Either way, it appears he's getting close
