Be aware of where you and your loved ones are and where you have to travel.

I received an alert from CNN that protesters were nabbed by the FBI buying explosives.

CLAYTON, Mo. — A St. Louis County grand jury has finally reached a decision on whether to charge Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown Jr., officials have announced.

"The Grand Jury hearing the Michael Brown/Darren Wilson investigation has reached a decision and it will be announced later today," Edward Magee, a spokesman for the prosecuting attorney said in an email.

Whichever way this goes the streets will be full tonight and tensions will be high.

Everybody local keep your heads about you and stay safe.

Watching MSNBC and they are showing police barriers going up and command centers being established before announcement is made.

They are expecting announcement around 6-7:00

Please my fellow Ram brothers and sisters, respect each other and other people's properties, and most of all, stay safe

Yeah, they are waiting for all the schools to be empty I would think.

We have a go bag ready. If it gets bad, we'll head west and grab a hotel.

You might call around and check rates and availability as of now.
Just so you have an idea of what's out there.

I don't know that gouging will be an issue, but if demand is high enough anything is possible.

Good points, thanks.

Early leak rumors are that there will not be an indictment but, so far, not from a source I would rely on.

I have to head into St. Louis for work tonight at 10:00, and I'm out of sick days. My string of good luck continues.

Never been in a situation like that.
Was in So Cal when then riots happened in LA. I was in San Diego though. This was pre Internet, tweets or any of that. I knew it was bad when my boss called and told me to lock up the business and go home....figured it was bad because he was seriously cheap and would never let me leave work or give me a day off.

I would hope they would tell you not to come in if it gets out of hand.

If you do, plan your route well. They have talked about shutting interstates.

This is potentially very bad obviously. Keep your families aware of their surroundings. Good night to stay in for Monday night football. This is without a doubt a significant time in our history. Pray that everyone comes out of this safe. We in uniform take an oath to protect and serve. With that, I am off to protect Sparta.

I find it extremely ridiculous that they are waiting so long to make the announcement, and why why why did they decide to announce it after dark

I wouldn't want to be at the Bills Jets in Detroit letting out after the announcment.

Wilson hasn't been taken into custody so probably no indictment.

Wonder how many of these neighbors just lost their belongings in those storage units because a few fuck nuts used this as their latest excuse to be punks. I'll bet Ray's BBQ deserved their wrath as well. Certainly the beauty shop had it coming.

Just like the King riots - the looters and thugs had no desire for justice or social change. They just want to rationalize their desire to commit crimes while Rome burns.

I feel for the actual neighbors of that area and those that do honestly work for civil justice. What an insult to them.

If things continue to get tense, don't be surprised if the Rams-Raiders game gets relocated as well.

As for the whole situation there, my condolences to you and as 503 said, this is why I'm indifferent on both sides. The law is what it is at the moment, I hope it warrants a change with police procedures on using guns so we don't have shitstorms like this.

So what changes should be implemented? a police officer shouldn't be allowed to use his gun to fend off an attacker ? Would you take the job if you couldn't?
Once Micheal Brown attacked the cop he became a fleeing felon, so would you not want the police to be able to shoot a fleeing felon?
There are many facts about this case that were revealed tonight ALL the physical evidence supported the police officers story, this was not a case of a white cop victimizing a black kid , so if there is a "problem" it's mostly projection and a whole lot of people are demanding blood from a white man BECAUSE he is white. That fact is so under played it's pathetic, yes there is some racism involved here problem is people aren't honest enough to or are too blinded to see where it's coming from in this instance.
I don't take any satisfaction in Browns death ,that is a human tragedy, but the 80 or 90 % of the people of Ferguson who need police protection from the likes of Micheal Brown are better off he's no longer a part of their community.

A lot of "interests" out there benefit from social destabilization. The tools used to achieve this goal, and their reprocussions on individuals, are less relevant.

By the way, In the early 80's, I lived in Florissant.

I'm not interested in the debate of racism. I just expect cops to be better disciplined in handling criminal situations without the need to resort to firearms. They should be used when criminals are in possession of firearms of their own or to coerce criminals by firing rounds in the sky. Non-lethal bullets ought to be used to incapacitate first before using lethal rounds so we wouldn't have an incident like this again.

How precisely would this work? Should officers carry one gun full of regular ammo and one full of non regular bullets? Or be forced to unload and reload their gun before they can use the lethal rounds?

I think cops are plenty disciplined in resolving situations WHEN POSSIBLE without use of firearms. Brown brought his own fate on himself.
