On if the Cowboys have the players to execute Ryan’s defensive plan:

Rick Gosselin: “No. I think (Morris) Claiborne is going to come in and eventually be a Pro Bowler, but in this league, you build from the front back. The Cowboys are trying to build from the back up. You win up front and for the Cowboys to trade up in the first to get a cornerback, as good as Claiborne is, I hated giving up a second. They gave up a chance to get a front seven player, and that’s where you’re winning in this league. I would have stayed there and taken (Michael) Brockers and had a second round pick.”

Did you read the comments from that quote? They were all bashing him. They also all believe that Brockers is a bust and wouldn't have wanted him in the first place. I wonder what they would be thinking if they sat at #14 and Brockers was taken by them.

Brockers as a 3-4 DE in their scheme just isnt as "sexy" as seeing Claiborne come in to improve the secondary. I bet they would have had no problem taking a pass rusher (Ingram?) at #14.
