Was listening to a podcast and the guy was gushing about the job Shanny is doing with his 3rd qb this season. But if the 9ers can get this undrafted guy to play decent, don’t we have to ask if it’s Shanahan who makes JImmy G special? Maybe Jimmy G is a product of the system, first in NE and then with boy genius Shanny.

Oh man... sorry bud, but there isn’t enough evidence to really say for one. Two, do we really need this thread? Lol. Don’t take it personally brother, but we just went through this with Goff.

It seemed that Jimmy Cornholio was failing as the franchise QB this season before he tore up his knee.

Jimmy G hasn't done any special so I'm going to settle with ass QB until proven otherwise.

Jimmys 59 percent completion rate and 90 qb Rating in 2018 after a whole season of learning the system indicates he hasnt even arrived at Average QB status yet.

It was a desperate move to pay him Elite QB money.

Remember all the preseason hype of the Niners winning the NFC West?

BWAHAHAHHAAA!!!

When Jimmy G. first was drafted, I kind of wanted him when we sucked hard at QB. I have to say that right now, he was the most overhyped QB coming into the 2018 season. That little win streak at the end of 2017 was suspect, of which I am tired of explaining. RW is good, but I think Goff is better right now.
Best QB's in the NFC West
1. Goff
2. RW
3. Jimmy G.
4. Rosen (only because he has no weapons & coaching sucks)

Just trying to shake things up a little, I doubt anybody really cares how Garapalo is perceived, but the Monday nite game has been dissected ad nauseum

If the system works when he's at QB, who cares? People can call Goff a system QB all they want. As long as we keep winning and he keeps producing, their words will be meaningless.

That’s what people say about golf. I’d believe it’s the system if it worked for Blake Bortles.

What makes Jimmy G appear special is his release and at times his touch. But really, his release is very compact and fast, a major plus.

The truth is every successful QB has had a coach that can match his offense to the QB strengths.
If a coach can't do this, he is a bad coach and a moron.

Yep that and the team around them. Staff and talent both are critical. So sustained success even at QB requires all that support to include the front office drafting and maintaining talent.

Imagine the Browns drafting Tom Brady. Totally different history and career would have followed.
