Man I feel like I've been lacking on matching the menu to the team so far this year.

We've certainly gone out of our way in the past to make Chicago style dogs - they were good but not worth the effort to find all the ingredients.

I think we have decided on taco soup or sloppy joes for Sunday. Get either going tomorrow so we can snack but feast on Sunday.

We've been invited to a murder mystery party tomorrow (Saturday night). I'm making spicey pretzels for this.

I've already expressed that I don't want to be out too late with an early game for Rams.

So what inspires you all this weekend?

I would have a Chicago-style pizza, but you can’t get them where I live. There’s a place that does them in Soho, but they don’t show the games.

So I will just stay at home, watch the game on Game Pass, and order a Chinese takeaway.

At least it starts with Chi…

I'm excited to see an early game, so gonna do breakfast. Pancakes and sausage (turkey for me dammit) with fried eggs. But still quite excited as I don't normally do fried eggs either. Gonna roll mine up cannot wait. :startstruck:

Penne pasta with my homemade sauce, meatballs and sausage. Maybe fresh Italian bread too although I am dieting. Bad day for that, eh?

At a pizza place in Chicago called Giordano’s. Don’t like deep dish pizza, so I’m having an au jus Italian beef sandwich. Trying to convince my folks to split a cannoli.

This is a morning game so I will make my family favorite omelet. I fry up some bacon, whip up about 6 or so eggs and pour the eggs in a hot pan and quickly turn down the heat. Then I add mushrooms green onion salt pepper and five kinds of cheeses including a little cream cheese and then lay on crispy bacon and fold the eggs over into an omelet.
Served with small red pan fried potatoes and onions.
GO RAMS!

Giardianera with spiced beef in a crock pot and add pepperoncinis. Served with a bolillo and provolone. There’s tons of recipes available and most are delicious.

We picked up a couple of beautiful filet steaks from our brilliant local butcher. I'll do mine with a chimichurri recipe I have and my wife will take hers with a nice peppercorn sauce. We will do some garlic potatoes and some greens - probably roasted asparagus with balsamic. And a nice bottle of red, possibly something Portuguese which I am feeling at the moment.

And some fucking victory scotch also, obviously.

I have friends down at my beach place for our annual guys weekend, so gotta feed the crew. Making my first batch of chili this season. Marinated a flank steak over night to cube up and throw in with 3lbs of ground beef and a half lb of sweet Italian sausage. Also gonna make a couple pounds of wings. This is not a healthy weekend.

Not to be picky, but have you possibly confused the Chicago dog with the New York version? The "original" Chicago dog included 5 ingredients (mustard, onion, sweet relish, dill spear and sliced tomato). Whereas the New York'er (figures) includes 10 ingredients and yup, that's a hasstle to gather.

Finally returning to normalcy where I can prepare Sunday's meal. Being Italian today, with Linguine (homemade pasta) with white clam sauce ensuring everyone in attendance is happy as a clam.
