Helmet design and composition has been changing, improving, but the number and severity of concussions has been increasing at the same time. Players have gotten bigger, stronger, faster. Helmets are made of hard plastic. I don't think the solution is in helmet technology, it's in rule changes that prohibit leading a tackle with your helmet and somehow reducing the violence in tackling.
