giants, raiders, bills, possibly the cards? Any bones we can pick clean here obviously the majority of us looking for outside edge rush help, but anything else within the cap we could use? Obviously we have all mentioned Hughes on buffalo but bills supposedly don't want to move him or shady unless they get a haul or just trying to drive up price. I would be on phone for Murphy (of course), Raiders I'd want Irvin and Giants well Vernon would be awesome but cap wise it's not possible. I think maybe without some creative financing none of this is possible. Saints getting Apple who yes has been ehhhh but three corners now athletic corners to put on our 3 wideouts. I'd like to add something to help us down the road.

Also just throwing it out there if he were made available would you guys be willing to take Jared cook back? I know that's a tough pill to swallow but before anyone jumps all over me its just for conversation but he could be a very good weapon in this offense.

LB. If there's someone out there who can boost our depth I'd be all for it.

But pass rushers will be too costly. I want to see us keep that round 1 pick there will be a very good option there for us in this draft end of the round.

Oh and F no to Jared POS Cook.

No way on Jared Cook: (1) The Rams scheme requires everyone, including TEs, to block and not just token chip block. Everyone needs to hold blocks and stick their noses in it; (2) I think McVay likes players who demonstrate a higher compete level than Cook is capable of.

I would definitely not give up our first part of what the Rams are doing is contingent on some revolving doors using the draft to hopefully hit on players to plug and play and save money fore core so I'm with you on that but for the dudes I mentioned I'd give a 4th and 7th fora good linebacker for Murphy I'd hold out long as I could and part with one of our threes young, cheap enough and signed to a very friendly deal. Irvin I'd give just a 5th maybe a 4th if other teams starting to make changes to gear up against us.

As far as cook I figured that might be the response lol.

Knowing Snead and McVay they will trade for someone before the deadline. I personally think another CB or EDGE would be nice. Maybe a TE red zone target??

Are any future 6th round picks available? Les should start collecting early.

Bucannon or Whitehead, LBs.
http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9591/deone-bucannon

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Cardinals are "stepping up their efforts" in an attempt to trade LB Deone Bucannon.

A first-round pick in 2014, Bucannon doesn't seem to be fitting in with new coach Steve Wilks' defense. He's playing this season on an $8.718 million club option and will be a free agent after the season, so it's going to be really hard to find a team willing to take on that salary. Bucannon's gone from playing 100% of the snaps in Week 1 to one snap in Week 3 and four snaps in Week 5. He has received atrocious run-defense and poor pass-coverage marks from Pro Football Focus

I'd trade a 7th round pick for Jared Cook for the chance to immediately cut him again.

My early Christmas List:

- EDGE - Dante Fowler/JAX - hot/cold prospect looking for a new contract on a good team
- CB - TreDavious White/BUF - Buffalo cold is setting in and Tre don't feel it!
- TE - Erik Swoope/IND - Red Zone target

No way on Cook....There is something wrong with the dude where he has one monster game a year, and then disappears. We don't need that kind of inconsistency from a a veteran.

Trying to narrow down positions for the Rams to target. I'm conflicted on CB since Talib will be back soon and that position seems to be improving. Troy Hill is hot and cold at times, but for his position on the depth chart, teams would kill to have him. Tight end is an interesting position since the Rams have some promise there, but no definite, reliable option.

So TE, Edge, and maybe inside LB and CB?

Broncos might be sellers too. Would be nice to try to pry an edge rusher from them like Shaquil Barrett, although they didn't want to trade him when they were reportedly trying to get Joe Thomas during their Superbowl run. That said, things change. Different coaches are there now, they drafted Chub, and Barrett had a back injury semi-recently. If not him at edge, then possibly Shane Ray. He's one dimensional, but is a better one dimensional option than say, Bruce Irvin. Brandon Marshall at the ILB spot would probably be available if the Rams want him since they have his successor in Josey Jewell and Marshall's contract will be up soon I think. They have some other interesting options with guys like Derek Wolfe and Chris Harris Jr. but money would need to be moved around.

If you ignore age for a second, Lorenzo Alexander has been hyper productive on the edge for the Bills and comes with a team friendly contract. He's 35 and is having a career year after having a career year last year. Jerry Hughes would be great too, but his cap hit is 10M and that requires a work around. Alexander carries a 3.6M hit and at his advanced age and probably short contract, what he gets back in trade can't be too much despite his great production. The Bills aren't getting a 3rd in terms of a compensatory pick for him if he hits the free market, so that's the ceiling for compensation. The more I think about it, the more I want the guy.

I like the Fowler suggestion from @dang. That team has some problems right now and Fowler has always been discussed as a guy they were willing to send off someplace else.

So for edge guys, it's Shaquil Barrett, Lorenzo Alexander, and Dante Fowler in terms of guys who I think can move the needle here. Shane Ray could be helpful as well, but I think those guys are in a tier above him. Guys like Chris Harris Jr. and Jerry Hughes are unlikely due to cap hit. Someone like a Patrick Peterson is a straight up pipe dream.

TE doesn't seem like a strong market. There are nice pieces out there like the Colts TEs, but I don't think they change the dynamic and Cameron Brate ain't worth 7M-8M to be a red zone guy that I'm not even sure he is anymore.

If there's any glaring weakness on this team, it's TE and EDGE, though I'd put TE first. Obo is soon to take the field, we don't even know what we have in him yet. Plus we just came off a 7-sack game fellas -- I think our lack of pressure is mainly due to scheme & AD getting into form & the DL gelling together.
Tell you what, I was jealous of the 9'ers' George Kittle. Was hoping Everett would be the guy, or even if Higbee stepped up in yr 2, but so far I haven't been impressed with either -- Higbee is really doing great as a blocking TE, and his hands aren't bad, but he's not a field-stretcher. Everett can really create in space, but he just can't get his hands on da ball -- and yet even when he did in the 9'er game he gave up a TFL. He's caught some great passes, but he's inconsistent. Not quite Cook-level inconsistent, but he needs someone to light a fire under him.
So.... anyone know any TE's we can drool over?? anyone we might be able to pry fee w/ the right offer? A consistent pass-catching TE would really put this offense over the top.

We don't need an all pro TE - and we have some good blocking TEs - so a reliable red zone target with strong hands would do the trick. I am not saying he is available or the right player - but someone like Erik Swoope or Jack Doyle (if he could get healthy) from IND could fit the bill.
