LOS ANGELES – The Rams being back in Hollywood and all, it seems only appropriate to tie their current situation into the essential elements of script writing and movie making.
Specifically, Rule No. 1.
Every spoken line and scene must be written, constructed and acted in a way that moves the story forward.
Any line or scene that isn’t advancing the story, no matter how clever or entertaining or cinematically brilliant it might be, is a complete waste of time and needs to be immediately cut.
You’ve got 90 minutes and 110 pages to tell your story. So make everything count.
Which brings us back to Jeff Fisher and Case Keenum and Jared Goff and how the Rams are clinging to ego and false hope while letting another season circle the drain.
Even when an opportunity to cease wasting precious time and...
Well, being a night owl on the West coast i'm thinking i'll just stay up all night for this one if i can.
It's time to end the 2 game skid and get to 4-3. Rams will still be sitting firmly in the thick of the race if we can get it done today.
Quick thoughts: Defense has to be awake, prepared and schemed. Undermanned today...less pass rush and cover corner. I don't like the idea of another shootout which it could very well become.
What a great day for #30 to go off and dominate right? Let it be so.
This game at Detroit probably and very likely will determine if the 2016 Rams are able to win more than 7 or 8 games.
History doesn't lie and when we ignore it, the same things almost always happen again. There is a trending truth about Jeff Fisher's Rams teams with a telling story about them starting 3-3.
With the usual common issues on offense, this 2016 Rams 3-2 team better not become another 3-3 Fisher team.
Many Rams fans might balk at the significance and impact that this game has next Sunday, but I believe this is coach Fisher's most important game since being hired as the head coach.
Do not let this team Fall to 3-3 Jeff Fisher. History doesn't favor your teams starting 3-3 and this 2016 team is not protected from your past. It is a different team but there are too many of the same issues that wiped out your other 3-3 teams.
Fisher has started the season 3-3 three different times as head coach of the Rams and his current team is 3-2 but on the...
Sorry for the fast post but just wanted to start off everybody's morning tomorrow with a nice video to get you pumped!
I hope your transition to LA has been ok for your fan base. We know first hand how that could have gone. Luckily, we had a billionaire invest a ton of money into our sports/city.
As you know, we shut out the Patriots on the road, the first team since 1993 to do so.
This is after totally dismantling the Cardinals on every phase. The Bills are clicking on all cylinders and are getting healthy. We get Marcell Dareus and Seantrel Henderson (6th OL/swing tackle) back against the Rams.
Our only injuries heading into the game are Sammy Watkins (IR), Reggie Ragland our second round pick (IR), and first round pick Shaq Lawson (back week 7). We expect the entirety of our roster to play except those three.
Outside of the Thursday Night explosion by the Jets (played their super bowl as Rex as tauanted Ryan Fitzpatrick for like 10 years), we have only allowed 10.6 points per game, and those three opponents are 7-5 (with two of those loses being from us).
Rex will ALWAYS play...
Lots of movement this week. Like....a crap ton.. But yea, it's deserving....Maybe..... Enjoy!!!!!! Or don't.... freak off!!!!
This woulda been posted last night but in my drunkin haze I forgot to make it public. My bad....
This is a very big game.
Arizona got handled in their last game. They are 1-2 and they haven't looked like they fit the big britches that the national media made for them in the pre season.
Its always fun watching these teams play one another - and right now, there isn't a team I'd like to beat more than the Arizona Cardinals.
Looking forward to seeing updates on the status of Evan Mathis and Michael Floyd through the week. I want to beat them at their best and all - but really, I just want to beat them.
We need to get to Palmer early and often - he needs to feel like he is too old for the NFL by midway thru the first quarter. David Johnson needs to be contained at all costs.
These guys are beatable and if the Rams want to be for real this year - they have to show up for games like this.
I'm looking for Gurley to really get going this week.
Jameis and the Bucs sure looked ordinary against the Cardinals. After getting embarrassed you can bet they will be bringing some fire to this contest with the Rams. Jameis isn't afraid to sling the ball around - he will turn it over but he will also connect here and there. Doug Martin is gimpy but Charles Sims may be the more dangerous back. Mike Evans is blossoming into a star - he will need extra attention from our secondary.
Offensively, we obviously have to figure out how to score. We had our way with these guys in the ketchup and mustard game last year - and I'll bet most of them remember that. It would be nice to hear that the offense is making adjustments this week - whether that is from a coaching standpoint, a personnel standpoint, or both. This seems like the kind of game we ought to be able to win on the road - which makes me worried that we won't.
I just checked the Rams web site and he is in the 2nd position and moved Mannion to 3rd. I guess the kid is moving up. I know I heard Fish mention about the possibility of him moving behind Case. I guess this means he is progressing.
It would be nice to see him play his 1st game as well or better than Wentz did in Philly.
Okay, I've given it the 24-hour rule, albeit's been only about 19 hours. Starting to think about this Sunday's game. I know we are disappointed/ticked beyond certain words, but I want to focus on Sunday's game against Seattle. I hope the team, regardless of Fisher's apologetic reasoning, comes out with a sense of urgency and some anger. The only way to wash the bad taste of last night's game out of their mouth is to get back on the field and play. In all honesty, and it's not the "kool-aid" talking, I think we will see a much different team, especially on offense. The one thing I've seen, over the years, is when someone's pride is wounded, they normally come back with something to prove. I think the players know they laid a huge sh*t burger yesterday and their pride won't allow them to do it two games in a row. I really hope they will play with a bit of a chip on their shoulder (no pun intended).
Offense needs to set the tone on their first series and score a touchdown and...
Monday Night Countdown starts in 20 mins and a little more than 5 hours till game time and I can't wait. Beer is chillin, Brisket is in the crock pot, Beans are soakin and the Margarita machine is poised to begin making killer drinks and I have the rest of the day off......................NICE! Go Rams!
enjoy the game my fellow Ram Fans! Party time!Go Defense!
First things first, I am a Quick apologist. I didn't love the pick when it was made, but, I certainly saw the upside.
Now that Cook has gone Quick has become the symbol/target of the Rams enemic offense.
He has had several drops this preseason but I think there was little chance he was going to be cut. Rookie WR take time to get up to speed. Maybe he is just here until other guys are healthy, but, I sort of doubt that.
I went back to 2014 because that was the last time Quick got meaningful time.
He had 25 catches (39 targets) and 1 drop along with 3 TDs.
Britt had 48 catches (84 targets) with 2 drops.
Austin had 31 catches (41 targets) with 3 drops.
Quick 4% drop rate (1 TD/8.3 catches)
Britt 4% drop rate (1 TD/16 catches)
Austin 9.8% drop rate (0 TDs)
By comparison a physically similar receiver Malcolm Floyd had 4 drops with 47 catches (99 targets), a drop rate of 8.5% drop rate.
A guy that some were clamoring to sign to replace Quick, Cecil Shorts had 5 drops with...
