A friend at work wanted me to join his league, and it's a full point PPR. I've never done that type before. What players do I need to target in the first few rounds, or just go like I do from standard leagues?

Hoard as many RBs as possible, and take WRs like Cooper Kupp and Larry Fitzgerald? TE should be targeted early? How high do QBs go? Kickers and DST?

RBs that catch the ball and/or bellcow RBs are very valuable especially guys like Gurley, Bell, Johnson, Barkley, Kamara, Elliott, Hunt etc. Antonio Brown is an exception in the 1st because he catches a ton of passes and hes amazing lol. Ive been doing some mocks for PPR and grabbing one of the better RBs 1st round. Dalvin Cook and Leonard Fournette seems to always go in the 2nd round which could be a nice value if you miss out on the top tier guys or wanna go RB-RB in the first 2 rounds. Outside of Gronk and Kelce I wouldnt reach on a TE too early. Ive been waiting and snagging Trey Burton in like the 8th round or someone like Njoku and Kittle even later. Elite Defenses usually go around rounds 7-9 and once someone selects one there will be a run of Jax, Minn, Rams usually. You can wait on QB also and grab Goff, Stafford, or Rivers late etc. Kickers dont matter typically and you can wait till the last rounds to take one. I try to go with one I know is solid+ has a offense that can get them into position to get FGs. Heres a example mock in a 10 team I did. I actually went RBx3 cause McCaffrey was just sitting there in the 3rd so I had to lol. I still ended up with decent WRs (albeit I need more) even passing on them in the first 3 rounds. I think I was picking like 5th or 6th. I went heavy on RBs because they are valuable trade assets if they pan out.

1. Ezekiel Elliott (Dal - RB)
2. Dalvin Cook (Min - RB)
3. Christian McCaffrey (Car - RB)
4. Allen Robinson II (Chi - WR)
5. JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pit - WR)
6. Deshaun Watson (Hou - QB)
7. Rashaad Penny (Sea - RB)
8. Corey Davis (Ten - WR)
9. Kerryon Johnson (Det - RB)
10. David Njoku (Cle - TE)
11. Tarik Cohen (Chi - RB)
12. Jared Goff (LAR - QB)
13. O.J. Howard (TB - TE)
14. New Orleans (NO - DEF)
15. Jake Elliott (Phi - K)

Ppr means there’s more starting caliber wrs available so don’t be afraid to wait on them if there’s rbs available that you like. Guys like bell, Johnson, Gurley, etc that don’t need to come out on passing downs and are very capable wrs have huge value and if you got a top pick you want one of those type of rbs.

Te almost becomes pointless to take early since you won’t have to rely on yards and touchdowns as much which the top guys would normally dominate in

For reserves, same as before, I’d focus on rbs earlier and wrs later cuz most backup rbs around the league don’t come in and light up the league when the starter gets hurt. But every year there’s a handful of backup wrs that preform real well especially in fantasy

OK...thanks guys. So it's just like standard scoring. I thought I would be forced to take guys like Duke Johnson or Travis Kelce.

I'll probably just use my same strategy then.

FWIW and with all due respect any league that allows you to take the likes of Elliott, Cook & McCaffery in the first three rounds and then Deshaun Watson in 6th I would like to be involved in that league.

How many ppl are in your league? Cook or McCaffrey should not make it back to the other end of the snake.

You should draft the same, take the best player. Ppr just helps your flex rbs/3rd down guys give you more value. Guys like Cohen/McKinnon/Duke Johnson etc

Think possession WRs in the middle and late rounds. QBs are going relatively late this year. I'm getting Goff and Alex Smith in double digit rounds like 10th and 11th. The RB is king is back in vogue in fantasy. Of course, no better one to have than Gurley but he's going 1st most of the time.

Goff is being really disrespected in FF as well. His ADP is like 11th round right now. Rivers is going around the same too.
I'm loving it. It's like he's invisible. I sometimes feel I could actually get him even later in the draft.

Agreed. I have no issue drafting him later and starting him every week. Only Rams fans seem to appreciate how good he really is

In standard leagues I go all RBs mostly. Maybe a stud WR if one happens to fall. I also try to get a no-name RB (usually a rookie) immediately in the waiver wire after the draft is over. That's how I ended up with Kareem Hunt last year. :)

Besides Cooper Kupp and Larry Fitzgerald, Keenan Allen, and Mike Evans early if he's there...I really don't see any stud possession WRs. Most get 4, 5 catches a game but for 50-100 yards and a touch. Like Julio can get 3 catches all game, but for 80 yards or something. That's my issue with PPR. RBs are pretty easy, WRs quantity yes, but which ones.

IMO, "stud possession WR's" are guys that aren't the stud home run hitters (J. Jones, A. Brown, OBJ, etc). Guys like Jarvis Landry, Edleman, even Woods are what I consider the "stud possession WR's"...actually, many of these are slot-type guys. But the point is that they aren't typically the #1 WR on the team, but they can rack up points because they make so many catches...even if they don't score many TD's.
That's the way I look at it, anyway.
Don't discount guys that make a lot of catches - WR's or RB's...you might be surprised how many games this year you win (or lose) by 2 or 3 points (or less).

OK, here's my money league. I don't like taking Patriots, BUTTTTT it's weird how when money is on the line it changes your perspective. Especially when you pick first and watch 13 players go by you. I took a shitbird because a shitbird fan took the Rams defense. :boxing:

Wait, you got Todd Gurley AND Jordan Howard? Holy mother of fate. You're going to win the league with them alone. Add in Woods, Cooks, a healthy Gronkowski, and Stafford, and you've easily won this league.
