Just crazy how ARI chose to defend against 13 early with dime. Great tape on individual performances even if they're not highlighting them a ton. Ferg's blocking is coming along and light years ahead of where it was even a few games ago, hope he continues to improve there (and work on his hands more!). Allen is a toolsy and useful weapon in run (and pass). And while I know we're paying a decent amount for Colby I think we should at least be having a conversation about keeping him next year if he keeps up what he's shown in the last few games run blocking AND pass catching. He is a true Y and they're hard to find in todays NFL.

Dotson has been stellar all year, just great stuff. Avila seems to have rounded into form. Alaric is quietly having a very good year pass blocking (his run blocking has been just OKAY - which is a fascinating flip on what he was to begin his career). McClendon has been good.

And Shelton is the thing that stirs the whole drink. He'll miss on some stuff but is mostly where he needs to be, snaps are perfect, can even make a stellar block at times and mistakes on the line don't seem to be there in the way that the line could look disjointed last year.

Agreed on Ferg. I think his drops are from the speed adjustment of the NFL. It wasn’t really an issue for him at Oregon that I can remember.

I will say. I’m excited for year 2 and 3 of Ferguson. I think he’s going to be a weapon

There was a decent amount of talk about not great hands at Oregon, even his catches had a lot of clap attacking and most of his drops were due to it. He can work on it though, hope he continues to.

I'll eat some crow on Shelton, I wasn't totally against bringing him back in the offseason but I wasn't entirely onboard with it either at the price. But he has been solid and clearly Stafford has trust in him. It really brought everything together.

McClendon has really stepped up his game and that is a huge thing for us if we don't have to worry about using premium resources to find a RT in the offseason. Really frees us up having no glaring holes on offense to deal with from upcoming player exits assuming no one retires.

People forget, Cooper Kupp had some nasty nasty drops his rookie year. He was obviously a stud but he went thru it too.

Agreed -- once Ferg gets some seasoning, he's going to be a nasty TE weapon. He's so smooth... but fast. Someone posted a while ago that he was the fastest TE at the combine? but he sure doesn't look it, which is deceptive. Just gotta get on the same page w/ 9, work on the drops, etc.
But I'm just jazzed about ALL our TE's; our 13 packages are very hard to stop. With that many blockers, how can you NOT have a great running game? and, like these guys said, you can't go heavy on D because all 3 of them can catch passes--not one of them is a "blocking TE"; even though Allen prolly fits that description the best, he's still a pass catching weapon.
Man... what a great season the O is having this year. I had my doubts, but the results are indisputable.

My take away here is that AZ is so bad or beat up, that they had no answer for 13 personnel and we could have probably ran every play and they never could have stopped us. So like I said in another thread. Lets see this against the Seahawks and Detroit before we crown them.

The way he's blocking is a great sign that at the least he's going to be an inline starter. But I was hoping he'd develop into a fluid receiving threat. So hopefully in this remaining schedule he'll start stringing together better results in the pass game.

Your great TEs seem to show something year one. He was starting to flash for a while there but teams probably put some focus on him. Now he needs to take that next step and start hauling in whatever Stafford puts in his direction. It's fine of course if he's just a starter as a round 2 pick. There's worse things. But like most here I was hoping for a lot more and he does have the raw skills to do it.
