Falcons sign Antone Smith, Mike Person

AP
The Falcons moved quickly to sign linebackers Brooks Reed and Justin Durant after free agency opened on Tuesday afternoon and they’ve announced a couple more moves in the evening.
Running back Antone Smith has re-signed with the team and former Rams guard Mike Person has joined the squad.
Smith has been with the Falcons since 2009 and saw his first regular season action with the club the next year. He never saw much time in the offense until 2013, but showed off a knack for making big plays once he got his chance. Smith has scored seven touchdowns of 43 touches from scrimmage, although his 2014 season was cut short by a broken leg.
Person was a seventh-round pick of the 49ers in 2011 and bounced around the league while playing in just one regular season game in his first three seasons. He wound up in St. Louis and saw action in all 16 games as a backup last year. Person joins tackle Jake Long and center Scott Wells, both of whom were released, as recent departures on the Rams offensive line.
