Him and McVay together can win multiple Superbowls with this D and Offensive schemes. Sign him to 5 year extension ASAP.

An extension does nothing. Only way he leaves is a HC job.

I should note that I am happy with an extension. Just saying that Staley can sign an extension and then still immediately leave for a HC job.

I bet position coaches jump at the chance to move to the Rams as a coordinator. One year and they get a HC job.

Pay him near HC money. Kroenke has the pockets.
This. Not so much an extension, just give him a raise that's equivalent to HC pay. Then convince him its better to make the same money with less renown than to go to a shitty franchise and get washed out in 2 years because, I mean, The Jets? Chargers? Bears? Make money, stick around here a few years, and get to where you have your pick of franchises as HC

No cap when it comes to coach salaries

Not what I meant. HC is the top of the pyramid for NFL coaches. The career goal. These guys are competitors. How much money would it take for you to turn down your ultimate career goal (and still be rich anyway when you take it)?

I think we’ll get one more year with him. I wish McVay and Staley could be handcuffed together forever

EXACTLY!

Get a few rings and cement that legacy and then when he jumps, he'll have more leeway to really build a team instead of how "whiz kids" seem to get very little room if they don't make an immediate change.

I really hope he stays.

Double bonus if Robert Saleh gets an HC position.

But why would you go coach the Jets, when you have the chance to win the SB here every year with McVay?

Ah, I gotcha. Maybe Staley wants a fast track to being a HC, maybe he thinks the best way to win championships in the short term is teaming with McVay and this roster. But yeah, I assume after a certain point, its about career advancement instead of just money.
