Here is how I feel about Eric Dickerson. You know how people remember where they were events in history. Some good, some bad but they remember where they were.
I was in my 1980 Toyota pickup driving out of a strip mall in Arcata California, 5000 Valley West Blvd to be exact. Right when I was crossing the sidewalk to the street, THAT is when I came over the radio.
What could have been with Everett, Ellard, Flipper, That O line.........
Watching ED run was the best. And seeing him do it with a real offense and not Jeff Kemp handing him the ball would have been special.
ED was better than Emmit, better than Allen and yes better than Sanders. Who put his team in 3rd and long so much it hurt them. Constant yards means something.
I can not say he was better then Brown and to tell you the truth Bo Jackson if he would not have got hurt.
Jack Youngblood and Eric Dickerson played on the same team for a bit. My Rams favorites.

29 holding out and all that shit to include the trade was one of the worst periods for me in rooting for this team. He really was something though.

Glad to hear his book is having success too. The Rambassador is living the dream. It's always cool to see ex-Rams in the media making noise especially when it's an all-time great and he's in our corner. :thumbsup1:

Eric Dickerson has an autobiography that just dropped, and this interview has me hyped and I may buy it.

Check it out, it's a good listen.

Fun interview. Never knew about the friction between him and Fisher when the Rams came back to LA. I wonder if that's what Fisher was referring to in one of the early episodes of the Rams Hard Knocks when he kept yelling that they weren't an 8-8, 9-7 team.

And btw, anyone else notice what's in the lower right corner at 1:27? :horns:

All goes back to the pathetic ownership and cheapskates they had in the FO back then. Total Mickey Mouse organization. If they had even a half way decent ones back during the 80s, they could have taken off to amazing heights. The fact they did so well in the mid/late 80s just goes to show how talented they were back then to overcome the lack of quality everywhere else in the organization.

We truly are lucky to have what we have right now up & down the Rams organization. 100% committed to winning- big & small details alike.

The first Rams game I saw in person was week 2, 1985, in Philly. Dickerson just agreed to terms, but sat out the game. I was really disappointed. Next week he went for 150 in Seattle on Monday Night.

Never really looked at him the same after that. Sure he had a great playoff game in 85' against Dallas, but it was clear he was a "me first" guy. And when Everett showed up he couldn't handle sharing the spotlight.

Has anyone, outside of the organization, benefit from the move back to LA more than ED?

I don't think so.

He was invisible for yrs, but once his old team moved back to town (the one he held hostage 30 yrs earlier), now he is "The Rambassador" or whatever he calls himself.... And shows up on talk shows etc...talking about his "beloved Rams". Kind of funny.

The fact ED considers himself a Ram along with the F.O we had back then goes a long way toward my post career fondness for ED.
No running back has looked better running the ball since. Once ED popped straight up and down you were in trouble

Dickerson was one of the few guys that defenses had to respect the run on 3rd and long.

Something slimy about him for sure. It always feels like a grift when he makes an appearance or speaks.
