Trade away the #1 pick, for more future #1 picks. Then again, then again. In a few years you could end up with say 10 #1 picks in one draft. With that, you could build a super dynasty.

Survive off picks #2 - #7 the years #1s are being accumulated.

Don't laugh. This would be half the time it took the Rams to go from Linehan to McVay. I could wait a few years for the Rams to have a super draft with 10 1st round picks.

Yes. Bored at midnight so decided to document this magnificent idea.

Again, don't read this post please.

The downside to this strategy is implementation time.

What does this look like?; “Survive off picks #2 - #7 the years #1s are being accumulated.”

How many years is that? Feels like more than a few. And… What does the football look like in those years?

I don't know. Maybe 5 years?

I was pointing out we went through ten years of hell with the crap coaches. So, maybe 5 years ain't that bad to get one crazy ass loaded draft. It almost be like the Michigan Fab Five!

We'd have to wait 5 years before we even have a number 1 draft pick to trade away the way Snead gives up number 1s

Unless it ends up being a draft class like 2008. Not building a champ out of this

The Rams won't have another 1'st Round draft pick until 2024, ... I'm just guessing, but doubt we trade that 2024 top pick for the 2022 season. Other than the importance of re-signing Corbett, Allen & Noteboom this next off-season, I'm not seeing any great holes developing soon, and this includes the likely losses to free agency of Darious Williams, SJD, Kenny Young & Obo Okoronkwo.

It's too early for me to be naming potential additional players, although the Rams do have some 10 picks coming available for our 2022 draft. The positions I might speculate on with those draft picks, in no particular order, as things now stand and not acquiring any additional serious team injuries, ... are as follows :

OT - 1 (As competition for Noteboom)
RB - 1 (No guarantee Sony Michel will return & Akers' health remains questionable)
OG - 1 (Evans has disappointed & Anchrum hasn't proven anything yet)
DT - 1 (2022 is likely A'Shawn Robinson's final as a Ram)
DE - 1 (Rams have no apparent replacement for Morgan Fox as yet)
CB - 2 (Replace the loss of Darious Williams and acquire more depth)
OLB - 1 (Additional depth following the loss of Obo)
ILB - 1 (Additional depth following the loss of Young)
S - 1 (Additional depth period !)

Of course, Free Agency occurs prior to the draft, so further adjustments will be made to the above.

jmo.

It's not a horrendous idea. I do it in Madden sometimes. It usually works.

That's what the Philadelphia 76ers did with "The Process". It got the GM fired, and now most of the players are either gone or want out.

Karate defending himself against the onslaught of draft strategy critics, charging him down like Longshanks over Scotsmen....
