I always liked JL. Thought he got a bad rap from a lot of Rams fans for his style of play.
IMO many were just upset at the constant losing and took it out on the one guy who was there each week. Many forget that he ended his career as the Rams' leader in tackles.

Oh well humans be humanin'

100% couldn't agree more. Mad he wasn't a thumper but he still got the job done. Towards the end of his career he starting wearing out tbh which is understandable.

James Laurinaitis was the first Rams draft pick since Steven Jackson when I actually thought that we’d hit a home run.

This was pretty cool, thanks for sharing it.

JL was a guy I always liked and I've long felt he was underappreciated throughout, up until his wheels fell off.
Despite the perpetual dysfunction and disappointment, my passion and rooting interest in the team during that era was surprisinlgy as high as its ever been.

Maybe not the most exciting but There’s nothing more comforting on defense than a stud ILB (see BWagz in his prime) or more nerve wracking than a ragdoll ILB. JL didn’t quite get to stud level but he above average to good and always gave 100%.
