Despite the win I know there will be considerable angst about the defense, but was it that terrible?
The Rams gave up 240 yds on the ground but 90 of that was Wilson bailing them out, there were 2 personal fouls that kept drives alive and both led to tds. There seems like a lot missed tackles, guys who are in position but unable to get it done usually lbs. the pass rush was pretty good it looked like they finally found someone who can take advantage of the attention Donald gets. One thing that didn’t happen was we didn’t hear peters’ name called much today which is a good thing.

My honest opinion is if you take away the stupid penaltys that continued drives then its was a solid day for the defense.

Without the avoidable penaltys and late garbage time scoring we probably hold them to 17 points.

Fowler is definitely getting pressure and making an impact. The packages with Franklin Myers on third and long and Brockers and sometimes Suh sitting out are much more effective.

Our DB's and Peters did not get beat over the top for TD's.

We are not where we want to be quite yet, but its starting to feel like when we get Talib we will be formable again.

Now onto the Chiefs where we get reminded just how hopeless our Defense is.

273 yards rushing. That's not a misprint.

Although Fowler really screwed up the rams game flow. His 14 point gift to the seafucks allowed them to stay in their gameplan. The first penalty was bad enough, helmet into the lower leg of oompa, always gonna get called. But his second one had me cursing him for the rest of the game. So selfish. This is where the game should have been blown open by the rams. Instead the seafucks take the lead. Fuck i was fuming. I wonder if his ears turned red, i was cursing him so much.

On the flip side they only allowed 141 yards passing. The rams wanted to make them pass more but Fowler happened twice.

Good enough to win. That's all I care about.

Like @Mojo Ram alluded to earlier, defense isn't as dominant as it used to be. For anybody. You either have an elite offense, a good offense, or a bad offense. If you have an elite offense, you're gonna make every defense look bad. If you have a good offense, you're gonna make every defense look pedestrian. And if you have a bad offense, you're gonna make every defense look stout. We make every defense look like shit. And the other offenses we play that are north of average, are gonna make our defense look less than stellar. As long as ours comes up big when it has to, all of the numbers and points and yards don't mean shit to me. Just outscore the other dudes and keep rackin' up those dubyas.

The defense was bad, and it is very disappointing. I don't know what it is, but our defense just isn't gelling. It seems disorganized and disjointed too often. I hate how often I see guys scrambling to get into position right before the snap.

It's beginning to piss me off. So many opponent's big plays are coming when there are blatant grabbing the jersey holding on the opponents that aren't called.

Donald was tackled on one of the Sea Shits first TDs and then the penalty on Fowler for unsportsmanlike conduct was after he got grabbed and spun around by the O-lineman. That resulted in a sea hags TD.

There are many more but these two are the highlights of the day.

It was an improvement.

Like others have said, Fowler's stupid errors made it look worse than it could have been. On the flip side, Fowler was creating lots of pressure so he'll be fine going forward.

I totally agree! No sugar coating this, blaming penalities, etc.
There's no excuse we're getting run on like this with our line! One of the guys on primetime, believe it was Sharpe, said that with Donald and Suh both flying around offensive linemen going for sacks it's opening creases?! Sounds like this could be part problem!
All I know we're done for come playoffs if we don't get this figured out!
Also, we play this team twice a year and we don't know you have to keep a spy on Wilson?!
Maybe Wade needs to ck out some of Fishers defensive strategy against the Hawks?!
Off topic- come on guys why are we giving balls to Mayweather instead of kids or how about some deserving Vets?!

The issue is that we don't have outside contain, specifically when its run toward 50. That said defending RPO isn't easy to do. Hope we figure it out for Philly.

I want to see the rookie LBs get some PT personally.

the oompa has hardly run at all this season. the seafucks changed it up this game and let him run. it probably caught the rams off guard today. but you would think by the 4th or 5th run they would change their tactics against it.

Rams have to stem the bleeding. Don't need the defense to be dominant, but they do need to force more turnovers and at least slow down the run. 5.2 yards per rush allowed on the season is worst mark in franchise history. Discouraging to say the least that the Seahawks were missing DJ Fluker and Chris Carson and yet were even more effective running the ball.

This defense is more geared toward stopping the pass and making some big stops here and there. Most of the time there are only two linebackers on the field and both are better in pass coverage than they are run stuffing. Teams will be able to run on this D but the idea is that they won't be able to pass. So when this offense pulls away, the run first teams can't keep up and are forced to pass. It worked when Talib was playing.

So what if they give up yards on the ground. It's kind of a prevent, bend but don't break concept. Is it frustrating? Sure. Especially when you watch a rookie that we all wish was on the team, Leighton Vander Esch, going sideline to sideline making 13 tackles in the Sunday night game.

As long as we are winning I will just keep hoping for some improvement with this D. A balanced team like the Saints will still be an obstacle in the playoffs.

The penalties skewed the stats.. but giving up 8.0 yards per carry? Yeah don't know about that one.

The first flag, the hit to Wilsons legs, was Littleton.
What made Fowlers flag so bad was it being outside of the play....heading off the field after holding on third down.

And don't think teams aren't going to try and get in Donald's head now and get a flag or try to get him ejected.
When that scumbag Bennett was on Seattle I'd always say I'd cheap shot him early and get him out of his game.

I'd really love to know what Fowler said to that ref (in a calm manner, no less) that made him throw the flag.
"15 yards for hurting my feelings."

Both of these were stupid penalties.

It was a knucklehead move though. Walking off the field for an upcoming punt is no time to go after a ref and jaw at him.

Depends on what he said. It was described as him telling the ref he was getting held on that play (which he was), and players/coaches bring that to the refs' attention all the time. That's why I'd like to know what his exact words were, so I can determine (for me) whether or not it warranted a flag. I see coaches throwing around expletives to refs all the time without recourse. I'm just curious where the line is with some of these refs. That's all.
