When you look at it, teams are going to have to outscore us. The way the defense played its possible. But there is too much talent to think they'll continue to play like that. And even with that there are only a handful of teams who can do that.

Oh heck, forget it. We're going 19-0. :mrburnsevil:

Kinda reminds me of the gsot days when the offense set the league on fire, but there were a couple of teams, the Bucs, the Titans and of course the tackle anyone who comes off the line of scrimmage patriots, who were able to slow the offense down.
The Eagles and the Bears are teams that can play some d and the eagles offense will probably get better as Wentz improves.
So far so good but now it gets tougher with multiple road games.

The Rams were great on the road last year, no reason to think that won’t continue...

Let em’. Good luck trying to Jam our WRs on the LOS. And then, good luck on covering the slants and screens. They blitz, Gurley will kill them in the screen game as well as the hot read on dump offs.

I'm thinking of the 2001 superbowl where the cheatriots basically tackled Faulk every play in the backfield, blitzed the snot out of St Kurt the pious, and challenged the refs to call anything.

It's going to take a Bizzaro McVay to beat McVay.

I lol'd a little too hard from this line.
Not because its sooo funny, but because it is so true.
Something about that tickled my brains humor response as if I was 13 year old kid watching Eddie Murphy Delirious for the 1st time...

Blitzing is a gamble. I'd be willing to risk it. It boils down to whether you're more afraid of the screen or Goff dropping bombs to Kupp, Woods and Cooks all game long. Disguise blitzes, send rushers from different angles, speed up Goff's clock and give him something else to think about. I don't see how you can sit back in coverage and give Goff time to throw.

Rams are putting a terrible strain on defensive lines. Viking players talked after the game about how the Rams extensive use of play action slowed down their pass rush. Relying on your D Line alone to get pressure may be every coaches' optimal strategy but many teams don't have the depth or the star power to pull it off.

Another blitz buster is the hurry up offence. Defences get more basic, plus they tire out. You can also lock them into a personal group that limits the defense. I love that we randomly do this and always cursed Fisher for not allowing it when it was clearly when Bradford played his best.

They're going to start blitzing Jared Goff a lot more. Got to get pressure on him and throw off his timing.

But then Goff can just use The System to help him dump off to Gurley, who can then use The System to help him run down the field for large gains and touchdowns.

There's really only one way to beat this years O. Get pressure with four.

And you didn't say this but I know you were thinking it. Doing that with the Rams OL is really difficult even for the best defensive lines. Maybe a play or two a game, but never with consistency.

That was amazing, and it was a designed play and the Titans DL ate it.

It seemed like the entire OL was downfield blocking DB's LOL.

Not in today’s game. Won’t work... especially against the best OLine in the league. Also, if any coach thinks he will easily outsmart McVay, they are mistaken
