And North Dakota State just upset Iowa. Any other irrelevant things we should bring up?
It's relevant because it's the same program and offense Goff came from, with a bunch of new receivers as all the receivers graduated last year. Cal still can't run the ball consistently or play defense. FWIW, Webb is considered a prospect for the NFL.
That's why Aaron Rodgers went late too. People thought he was just another Tedford coached up QBStat King in the Air Raid
That is all
After setting records at NC State, Russell Wilson went t Wisconsin and had a great season too.
Webb isn't the first transfer to go somewhere else and play well.
Troy Aikman anyone?
Took AR some time too. That's why Aaron Rodgers went late too. People thought he was just another Tedford coached up QB
Yeah, didn't need the history lesson, the point is that Aikman was a highly recruited QB that was so good, they changed their offense from the wishbone. He was that good. And when he went to UCLA, or wherever he would have went, he was going to be a stud. Now Webb may not have Aikman pedigree but the kid was a stud as a frosh and was going to be a success wherever he went tooAikman left OU because Switzer went back to the Wishbone after Aikman broke his leg.
Switzer had installed a Pro Style for OU and then dismantled it when his QB went out for the season.
The replacement Jamelle Holieway was an option QB who started for the next couple of years and won a lot of games.
It didn't take AR time, we have no idea how well he would have played.Took AR some time too.
I am getting more skeptical daily of Spread Air Raid QB's and will be, until SEVERAL have success.
As we are seeing, Air Raid guys need time to learn the Pro Style game.
Not sold DieterIt didn't take AR time, we have no idea how well he would have played.
Being skeptical of Air raid is just not logicial as the spread is the common offense in NCAA these days.
Joe Flacco played D1aa from shotgun only in a spread, he did fine. Cam Newton played in a spread where he ran as much as he threw, he's doing great. Its the athlete, not the system that makes it at the next level
Not true, but you're free to believe whatever you likeNot sold Dieter
Spread guys struggle
Fact
I think you're both right. Spread offenses are qb friendly but it's the qb's intangibles and football iq that predict success. And for that reason there is no need to worry about goff yet. He has the skill. If he puts it all together he'll be fine.It didn't take AR time, we have no idea how well he would have played.
