I was pretty happy with what Allen showed this year, another good rookie in this class.

Would have liked to see him get some RZ targets yesterday.

I know Higbey just got an extension but that sure looked like a bad knee injury yesterday. Do we already have his replacement???

Higbee might not be back till midseason so having Allen show is a good thing. And having Long will be a help.

I think he'll play a much bigger role next year. He's shown flashes already and has all the tools you need to be a good one. It wouldn't surprise me if he becomes a better weapon than Higbee has been over the years.

Agree on Davis Allen. He looks great out there and IIRC, he has blocked well too. And he should get even better next year. What a draft!

Higbee was just way too inconsistent for me this year. Dropped a lot of balls. Even his injury last night could’ve been avoided if he caught the ball clean. He bobbled it and couldn’t get eyes on the DB coming in. He catches it clean, he can at minimum lower his shoulder to brace for contact.

I don't know... those idiots were targeting.
I think he'd had to lower his shoulder to his ankles to avid that one... :eyeroll:

Davis Allen is a keeper...BUT...I wonder when McVay is going to stop forgetting the TE in the offense. Look at Higbeast...hes really good but seldom targeted.

Should completely ban tackles with your head down and especially against a defenseless receiver

When can we get out of higbee contract? I hate to sound this ruthless since he just got hurt, but he’s too expensive to drop the ball every game.

Regarding Higbee's contract, remember he signed an extension earlier THIS season.

That makes him tough to let go. According to both Spotrac and Over-the-Cap, it would be more expensive for the Rams to release Higbee, with the Dead-$ actually exceeding his 2024 cap hit.

I also really like Davis Allen, and hope he has an increased role in 2024 but we (probably) should hope for Higbee to be healthy for the start of the season; and, at least, share the TE role with Allen because he's most likely on the roster.

Off topic a bit - I am not a Lions fan at all at this point.
Dirty fuckers- just like the whiners.
Glad the Rams don’t play that way.

Yes. It seemed like a lot of dropped balls for Higbee. Anyone have a stat.

Higbee's deadcap is certainly manageable especially since he's likely to start the season on IR if he's not released. $11.6 M deadcap is heavy but definitely doable.

Sad - when you talk Higbee $ Cap.WOW -his knee cap went every which way.

I don’t know what will happen with him ? I’ll say when The Rams signed him mid season.I was a little upset. He has always been a solid Ram though.
