Davante Adams looks slow, no separation.

Did you see him separate vs Sneed for the TD down the right sideline?
Did you see him separate vs Blankenship for the TD down the left sideline?
What about across the middle for the TD vs the Colts?

Even if he had lost a half a step, his game is much more then speed. His release, route running, and technique is elite.

Disagree with this take. I will say that I wouldn’t be surprised if Adams gets more and more discouraged and ultimately unhappy if Nacua continues to get all the targets and yards etc.

I think Adams looks fine physically. What I am surprised at is his lack of ability to make contested catches. And a few key drops. Like the dropepd TD vs Philly. We'll see how things play out as the season progresses.

I wouldn't worry about Adams getting discouraged or unhappy about his usage.

If he does, cut ties, because that would be peak diva WR behaviour and this is a "me not we" team.

His usage to date as been as good as any WR in his circumstances could ask for. He is 32 years old and will be 33 before the season ends. He surely must have known that he would be WR2 in Los Angeles with a receiver as good as Puka in-house,. Puka is arguably the best WR in the NFL. He is on a literally historic pace so far this season statistically, is in his prime, nearly a decade younger, already knows the system, already has chemistry with Stafford, and quite frankly is a lot more diverse in terms of what he brings to the table - blocking, jet sweeps, X receive spot, Y receiver spot, etc. - and so he can naturally stay on the field more and also naturally can have more plays schemed up for him. Adams' targets and stats are very much in line with what a good WR2 should expect. Particularly in the red zone, where he seems to get almost all of them. Puka's TD catch vs. SF, to my recollection, was his first red zone target this season? It's not like Davante is playing 2nd fiddle to a JAG. I trust the Rams would have had these conversations with him before bringing him in. And no WR is going to be the focal point every Sunday. You can't pout because you get held to middling stats 1 week. It happens to everyone. The other team gets paid too. Sometimes you have to take what they give you. Some weeks that will mean not throwing the ball much at all...

Defenses have been paying a lot of attention to Devontae and he’s never been the chess piece that Puka’s been since he got here. Puka’s out wide, he’s in the slot, he’s in motion, taking handoffs. It’s probably tough to try to bracket Puka but DC’s are going to have to do something, plus Stafford not playing in the preseason has to have an effect on their chemistry. They brought him here to help the red zone issues hopefully that develops.

He has been wide open many times.

Sure sometimes he is covered but that's because sometimes the DB's going to guess right.

Tutu needs more targets for sure and Adams is adding a deep element to the Offense. Both Atwell and Adams have a similar target to catch success rate. Adams averaging about 16 yds a catch and Tutu 41 a catch. I think Whittington is pretty much used like Nacua and spell him when necessary. As the season goes along the Tutu, Adams, Nacua combo is going to be lethal.

I disagree. He's not as explosive as he used to be, which is unsurprising at 32, but he's still getting open plenty often. He was eating against SF in the second half of that game.

Got to adamantly disagree with this take as well. He's getting plenty open, has been drawing the other teams number 1 CB a lot which helps Puka, and has helped a lot in the distract/screen off opposing DBs to get other WRs open game.

Give him time. Stafford missed so much time in camp that it had to affect his timing with the new guy. Not to mention zero reps in preseason. They're working hard to connect, but it's going to take a lot of reps.

Trying to remember how long it took Odell to start looking how he did in that title run. Iirc it wasn't immediate.
