So I have been offered the vaccination due to my volunteer and board member status for a charity I am apart of.
I can‘t complain that it has been offered. Feel a bit awkward that I could be taking this from someone who may need it way more than I do. Plus, I have a blood condition that might worsen with the shot.

Has anyone else received the vaccination? If so, any advice or stories after getting it?

Thanks in advance!

Received the first shot of the pfizer vaccine yesterday. Will get the 2nd on the 27th. The shot was fine just a shot. Sat for 15 minutes. Initially some burning then all good. A little sore today nothing really just know its there.

But this thread wasnt a rant against big Pharma. Just a guy asking for some information about a decision he has to make from people who have been thru it.

this is really a controversial subject. Going to let it go for now, but all participants be warned, if it gets ugly, there will be consequences

ok, I am unlocking this thread and have deleted all the comments I thought were out of line, and some others also.

If people can behave then it will stay open.

My old man just got his 2nd dose, and my sister in health care got both doses already

As for the OP, I haven't gotten it yet and I probably won't. I'm just really skeptical of a vaccine that's rushed through with truncated studies and clinical trials. For me, I honestly feel like catching the virus would be a better way of gaining immunity. I can understand how some people would want it and need it though. I feel like it's probably a better option for the elderly than getting the virus, as the virus is pretty dangerous for people over 60. And no, I don't want to derail this into another Covid debate. Those are just my feelings on the matter.

Got the first awhile back, and getting the second Saturday. No side effects at all.

I’m 72, snd in great shape, since @RamFan503 advised me to eat White Castle at least 3 times a week.

Didn’t really care either way, but Mari wanted me to get it , so....
And been exposed 3 times - 3 negative tests.

Apparently COVID is averse to alcohol and nicotine.

My mom did. No problem. I think it's great that we have people smart enough to develop and administer a vaccine in a few months for a brand new, man made virus.

I will get it when I can, I think.

I have to travel for work, and tested regularly. The loop I am in now... I have to be tested every 7 days... as soon as a negative result (48hrs later) must register again for a test within 7 days.

I am the safest and most dangerous person to be around, apparently.

Hope I can get it soon. My family has been hit hard. My mom got infected back in Dec and is still having problems. My Dad also got it at the same time and he died from it 3 weeks ago.

So sorry for your loss, Pancake. Hoping your mom pulls through, and my thoughts are with you and your family.

Today’s the day. My skeptical side doesn’t want it, my rational side says I need for it my job and volunteer work.

The good thing is I might get pulled into the Collective. Then at least I’ll know what everyone else is thinking (Star Trek reference).

I'll get it when I am able but I am confident wife and I both already had COVID in November. Been trying to decide if I want to waste money on an antibody test to check. But either way, when the phase comes around where I can get it I will likely do it. Know several family members who have gotten the shot and nothing serious. My sister is in healthcare priority so she got it and had the "covid arm" effect from it but it went away. My primary doctor got it and he said first shot was nothing but the second one kicked his ass for a day and a half but was fine after. As long as we get past this shit and get back to normal I'm all for it.

If you donate blood, they’ll test for free.

I've heard that the second shot caused for some people.and it was different for each one.
