For the numbnuts who compare Sam to Aaron:

Well in keeping with the subject de jour, COULD one posit that Sams extraordinary first Q stats are because teams were intent upon shutting down a recently dearly departed RB whose name doth still cause Mike Rumph to wet hisbed?
Could it be el Duke oh

27 players that are no longer in the NFL, that is such an unreal line to read... Jesus that 2011 team was just pure abysmal, so glad we got Fisher.

And we aren't done rebuilding that team yet, there are pobably five or so we kept last year that once we cut them this year won't catch on.
You have to add Smith if he doesn't get picked up ,the Jets cut him.

Yeah 2011 was tuhrbul

I stumbled across a commentary by the annoucners in the GB/Rams game who spoke at length about how this *is* a rebuild, and they explained it very well. I'm going to make my own little video of that at some point today - or tomorrow.

I await that eagerly,I think all of us who have let go of the past know we are in that process and that one year doesn't really define what a process IS.
The experts claim we have 6 holes to fill, after we filled what maybe 7or 8 last year,13 out of 22,JMO but if you replace 75% of the roster and 2/3 of your starters over three years you've rebuilt. But some people want it to be the same thing as an expansion team before they accept that term,oh well, a rose by any other name.

There was another bit of info regarding Bradford that came from that video (GB game)

In 3 years, Bradford has had

3 different offensive coordinators
30 different receivers with a reception
23 different lineman (I assume they mean 23 different variations of the starting OL)

I just thought that was shocking/interesting.

That is jaw dropping.

I wonder if anything close to that has happened before? My guess is; no.

That's the only other player that I could even think of.

If you want to talk systems, sure Alex Smith compares..

System changes AND OL/WR continuity? Not even close..

49ers:

2012 0 games missed
2011 1 Offensive lineman missed 3 games
2010 1 Lineman missed 7 games and 1 missed 2 games
2009 1 Lineman missed 7 games and 1 missed 1 games

Three years you had 4 guys missing games to injury (Staley twice being the culprit for a combined 14 games)

So you had 3 guys miss 6 games in 3 years.. Saffold missed that many just himself this year.

Figure I would update this seeing as how Smith started 9 games in 2012

Yeah I figured EVEN he hadn't been as disadvantaged as Sam, but he's the closest I figured you'd probably be able to conjur.

The only problem with those numbers is that they aren't for the same period of development as Bradford. You'd have to go back to Smith's first 3 seasons to properly compare them.
