No first rounders for 2 more years. No cap room. Many needs. Status quo and maybe we are a Wild Card team at best. The offense needs a whole new Oline. We need to replace aging players on D. If we trade Donald we can fetch at least 2 firsts and maybe a 2nd. Plus free up tons of cap room. We also can unload Ramsey and get a first and 2nd maybe. These two are great names but as shown tonight they do not make the Rams a great defense. I love Donald and I like Ramsey but this team is not 2 great players. I dont want to go 9-7 next season

I don’t doubt that Donald would fetch two first rounders but I think it would be foolish to trade away an All Pro defensive tackle who is on a hall of fame pace. The icing on the cake is if those two first round players we were to pick ended up being Greg Robinson-type busts.
The draft is always a crapshoot. You can draft a bust in the first round and a gem in the seventh. I just don’t think you take that chance with a proven commodity. But that’s just me.

With the cap going up, there’s a good chance we’d end up over paying for a solid veteran...if there are any out there worth over paying at the time anyway. But your point stands.

If Donald were just a really good player I'd be more open to the idea. But Donald is a phenomenal player. You just don't trade those (unless the price is just unbelievable)

Hey, maybe the Rams can cash in on some first rounders sure things like Jimmy Kennedy and Robinson.
The Rams have a horrible history trading HOF players.
But, you never trade generational players.
There are no sure thing draft picks.

I know it wont happen because Im sure Kroenke would never let star players go like that with the new stadium opening but the Patriots would always trade big names when they were still worth something and that allowed them so much flexibility and no rebuilding seasons where they were without cap room and draft picks. They traded Seymour and Chandler Jones. But this is an offensive driven league and McVay needs more parts to make his offense work. Trade him to Miami so he can sack Brady 2 games a year lol

The owner doesn't make these decisions for the football operations. I know a lot of people want to blame him for all the failures of this team and especially The Arsenal. But you're barking up the wrong tree. You're in the wrong damned zip code with your barking if you think something won't happen because of him, the opposite is the truth in fact.

The Patriots can do that because they have Brady as a centerpiece. He is a certainty, an institution even.

Goff is not. The Draft is not a certainty either.

We are looking more akin to the Broncos at this point, especially if Goff doesnt improve.

Brady became the institution because they were able to build a great offensive line around him. His skill position players were average to above average.
