As some of you may know I'm no computer genius. I was on the internet earlier today rams.com, not even porn, I noticed the page was loading slow. So I closed browser and restarted computer. Now my computer won't connect to internet. Troubleshooting says 1 or more network protocols are missing on this computer. It connects to WiFi but has no internet access. The WiFi is fine I'm connected to it on my phone right now. I don't really want to miss with settings/values or whatever without at least a lil clue to the obvious simple thing I am missing. I did a system restore hoping this would restore the network protocols but no luck.

Well I atleast have internet through wifi now, but I play an online game and would prefer the ethernet connection, there must be an easy way to restore the protocols.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Try restarting both your computer and the modem. Sometimes there are IP issues. I'm not computer geek either and my terminology could be off but this generally works for me.

Be sure the problem is not with your internet provider before you start changing things and be very careful with the system restore...anti virus software hates that.

Windows 10 upgraded a little over a month ago. It shows the WiFi says connected but I can't access any websites. It shows an unidentified network which I guess would be my Ethernet connection it says no internet access

Thank you for your help I will give this a try. 1 of the suggestions is to uninstall network adapter driver and restart computer, that the computer will automatically look for and install the needed network adapter driver, is it this easy. If I delete them will the computer find them on its own?

I've had that problem a couple of times and each time it turned out to be a problem at my providers end! You might call your provider and ask them to check your computers status!!

Thank you @flv I got internet back today. I had to run some crap in command prompt brought back memories of the 90s. But I would never have found my answer if you hadnt pointed me in the right direction.
And thank you to all the others that helped also, I was clueless and this board is to my internet what AA has been to my sobriety.
