Winter Storm Henry is heading to Foxborough on Saturday night.

No, that's not a twisted pun hyping Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry bowling over the New England Patriots in the Wild Card Round on Saturday night.

Literally, a winter storm named Henry is sweeping across the U.S. and is set to hit New England on Saturday. According to the Weather Channel, Henry, which has spilled mostly rain across the Midwest as it moves eastward, could develop into snowfall in the New England area by Saturday night.

Whoever pinned the name Henry to that storm deserves a medal of some sort.Henry has wreaked havoc all over the NFL down the stretch of the 2019 campaign as he bulldozed defenses for the final month and a half of the season to swipe the NFL rushing title.

Now the storm and running back will converge on Foxborough potentially at the same time as the Patriots stare at a possible end to their season far earlier than they're used to in New England.

While Winter Storm Henry is more likely to bring rain than snow Saturday night, Good Morning Football's Peter Schrager eloquently noted that there is something possibly poetic about this playoff game being played in a storm.

I find it humorous they are attaching names to winter storms now in the Great Northeast....It's just another day in paradise.

I hope Derrick Henry rushes for over 200 yards.

FYI there is no snow in the forecast for the game... light drizzle for the first half and then passing showers

I'm Henry the eighth I am
Henry the eighth I am, I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before
And every one was an Henry (Henry)
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry
Henry the eighth I am
Second verse same as the first

Game time temps in the low 40's. I don't know much about snow being from an area that only sees a few flakes once every ten years. But it doesn't seem cold enough to snow. Probably just a cold rain. Sounds like a team with a good running back would have the edge in wet conditions.

It's basically an insurance scam... created by the insurance companies.

Here's the short version.

Once a storm is "named"... there are clauses in insurance policies now that lower what your insurance company has to pay in claims.

Down here in hurricane land... storms weren't really named until they were basically Cat 1 hurricanes back in the day. Nowadays, every single tropical depression is given a name immediately. It's an unbelievable difference when you make a claim now when a storm is named. Isn't it amazing how every strong puff of wind now has a "name" given to it. It's fucked.

That's the reason why these winter storms are all given names now too. The insurance companies save boocoo dilores because of it.

Total robbery.

Wow that is despicable. Must be collusion between the NWS and insurers.

So again I can thank the great State of Florida for this? Now first the 2000 election and I will leave it at that. With the exception of UCF I never root for any of their college teams like Florida, Florida State & Miami and I don't know why I just don't and now because of Hurricanes (University of Miami) the Insurance Companies get together to ensure that every storm is names so they can pay less? Egad...Again I'm blaming Florida....FWIW I love Western, FL...Marco Island as we spend time there every couple of years.

Seriously though thank you for the info @Selassie I I was not aware of this.

It totally is.

Some of my friends who have commercial properties out on the coast made me aware of this several years back. It's way more obvious in their worlds.

It's complete bullshit.

Hey... leave FSU out of that mix please. My twins are seniors there.

Everybody likes to blame Florida for serious strangeness. The thing is... the people creating said strangeness aren't from The Sunshine State... they're transplants most likely from the Northeast LOL.

Real Floridians are kind of a rare bread. (I'm one btw haha). We've been invaded a long time ago.

Other than both states having long coastlines, I never thought of California and Florida as having much in common, but we are two of the most 'invaded' states in the union when it comes to transplants. 'Real' native Californians also a pretty rare species.

@Selassie I you are right it's total bullshit that this is allowed to happen.

It can alter your deductible significantly.

A friend of mine had damage from Irma, mostly roof but some minor water damage. His deductible because it was a hurricane was thousands of dollars. He ended up replacing the entire roof.
Had a crazy neighbor come over to his house and damaged it with sledgehammers his deductible would have been $1,000. I found out about this clause at that time and I was flabbergasted.

My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that the clause changes the deducible, at least in this case, to % of the total value of the home. This disproportionately effects the middle class because they are less likely to have large piles of cash laying around. In some areas people still have blue tarps on their small little Florida bungalows because they can't afford to get the roof fixed. I was reading about banks providing loans against houses to help pay for repairs that homeowners were having to pay for out of pocket.

Conversely some contractors work with some homeowners and provide a higher estimate to game the insurance company back but that comes with a risk. not everyone is willing to take.

Works for me as a twisted pun so long as Henry has a big game and the Titans win.

It's way more than just deductibles.

I'll give you an example. This is one that many folks didn't even realize until it was too late... at least it was for 2 property owners I know. Several years ago, insurance companies changed their policies with this named storm shit so that if a storm gets named... your docks (boat docks, piers, boat lifts, sea walls, and anything you have built in the water)... will not be covered at all in a claim. Nothing. Some folks caught on to this in time and were able to negotiate a change in their policy... but the most anyone could get covered was 10%. Meanwhile... if something happened to any of that stuff otherwise (weather included as long as the storm wasn't named), you can have full coverage (minus deductible of course). The insurance companies didn't point out this HUGE change when it was made across the board by all of them.

That's just one example. That's also the reason why many of the docks that have been damaged during the last several storms are still unrepaired to this day. The owners were blindsided by this sneaky trick.

There are many other things that changed with this too. Lots.

Now you know why they damn near go through the whole alphabet naming storms in a season now. Years ago... you'd almost never see the names get past "E" or so. Hell, they even started having to use Male names too because they were running out of options for Female names.
