I'm thinking McVay had a talk after the O'Connell sitch and gave him a couple of names he could take. Barry going before they hired a DC concerns me though. Where Barry could have been blocked, they could still lose Pleasant, Henderson or Evero to the DC

Just reported that the Chargers interviewed Denver DB coach Renaldo Hill (longtime NFL DB) for their DC spot.

Eh, this one doesn't bother me. He's a good LB Coach, but it's not a huge loss. We might even upgrade.

I am not familiar with the "code" or the "unwritten rules" that come with the NFL ecosystem but have to think it's about 1, max 2, robberies when someone moves on/up. If it were otherwise, coaches would probably block a lot more opportunities. Can't be replacing everyone every damn year!

Agreed this definitely looks like a compromise. Shula was outstanding since he came to us in what he got from his talent. He's one of McVay's best friends but not ready for the DC role apparently. So clearing space for him to be the LB coach for the entire unit makes a lot of sense.

But I want to wish Coach Barry all the best and say thanks for what he's done. He did a fine job with our ILBs this year maybe his best season in horns. Hope he gets a shot to call a defense again best of luck to him and family.

wow!! i think you should get some kind of nice guy award. maybe we should all remember that its not just the coach but his family that is affected in these moves. kind of makes me wish i wasn't such an ass hole but wish in one hand shit in the other see witch fills up first
