BREAKING DOWN THE MOCK: In Josh Edwards' latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft on CBS Sports, the Los Angeles Rams are projected to use a late first-round selection on a potential successor to Matthew Stafford.

THE RAMS' PICK

  • Round 1, Pick 31 (Projected): Brendan Sorsby, QB, Cincinnati
THE RATIONALE:Edwards projects the Rams (picking at No. 31, suggesting a deep playoff run) select Sorsby to be the future of the franchise. Sorsby is viewed as a high-upside developmental quarterback who would benefit immensely from sitting behind a veteran like Matthew Stafford.

The selection addresses the long-term future at the most critical position on the field, giving the team a "franchise quarterback" candidate who can be groomed for the starting role after Stafford's tenure concludes.

What yall think?

Here is a some highlights. Reminds of Mahomes with mobility, Stafford with the throws, but Rodgers when it comes to velocity

If he had any of those he’d be a #1 overall. He’s a decent prospect, but I’m not sold on a first rounder for him

I like this kid. Reminds me of josh allen with his arm and running ability. Love the quick release.
I’ll say this, he’s got several pretty good weapons to throw to.

1rst round pick? I would not be surprised if he was drafted there, but I just don’t think the Rams want to pass up the opportunity to land two quality players in the 1rst with starting ability while Stafford is still keeping the window open.
