Cool article. Yeah, the play-caller head coach is a thing now. I'd like Taylor and LaFleur to succeed simply because of their Ram ties.

Does this mean the Patricia hire in Detroit was a bad move? Is this why Greg Williams didn't get the Cleveland job? Are Belicheck and Tomlin dinosaurs of the past?

These things may be cyclical and dictated by the rule changes--as offenses are now ahead of defenses. In a couple of years, if some of these guys like Nagy, Reich, and Kingsbury don't pan out--we may see a scramble for hiring defensive coaches return.
