Another position that seems to be completely up for grabs. Wording as CB3 instead if NCB because we may kick Ramsey inside if a good outside CB emerges.

The contenders:

David Long
Robert Rochelle
Terrell Burgess

The wildcard:

Donte Deayon

Burgess would certainly be the NCB almost exclusively, which would appear to limit the flexibility of Ramsey. But if he's the best slot CB on the team how much does that matter? As a safety he would almost certainly be a good tackler (for the position). We've been waiting on Long for a few years. Rochelle is where this question gets interesting - you can see how well he uses those long arms in coverage and he's a freak athlete.

Deayon is a wildcard to me here because of this group, I hold him in the highest regard for this position right now.

Assuming Ramsey and Williams play nearly every defensive snap:

Who do you want to see win the CB3 job?

If different who do you think will win it?

Is David Long on the roster bubble?

If the best CB3 we have is exclusively an outside CB, how would you feel about Ramsey moving inside every time we have 3 CBs on the field?

Nice thread topic, Frantik.

I guess Morris has a bunch of tinkering to do as he sorts out his many CB options. Very nice ‘problem’ to have, huh?

Let’s see…

Ramsey and DW are both studs and both have tremendous flexibility if Morris wants to move them around.

Rochell has future outside CB written all over him.

Long has impressed coaches in OTA’s and mini-camp By demonstrating that he’s taken a big step up here in his 3rd year. Finally has a handle on zone coverage. Likely able to play either inside or outside this year.

I’ve been impressed by Burgess since day one and feel that he’s already starting caliber at either Safety or at NCB. Just depends on what Morris wants to do.

Deayon has received kind words about his play this offseason, too.

Can’t remember when our secondary has been so loaded. Goodness…
