Just putting it out there. Can we make this work? I am not so sure, but Bradbury is a very good CB

'Joe Schoen did not walk into the best financial situation in New York. Since-retired general manager Dave Gettleman spent without an eye on the future, and the bill came due this offseason. Unfortunately, that meant that Schoen's Giants have had to part ways with a handful of veterans. It appears that group will soon include cornerback James Bradberry. Schoen spoke Wednesday on the situation regarding Bradberry, who seems to be headed toward a release by Big Blue'

"We should have some resolution hopefully by the end of the week," Schoen said, via NJ.com. "It's unfortunate because he's a great kid."

'Schoen bided his time while waiting for interested clubs to call the Giants and make an offer for Bradberry, a cornerback who proved to be a Pro Bowl-caliber defender in 2020 and isn't yet 30 years old. The Giants GM didn't get much traction, though, as most teams knew New York couldn't afford to keep Bradberry and would eventually be forced to release him'

He's a zone guy mainly, so the Rams getting him would require that they want that element and then they would need to out-compete some other teams that have more cap space because he's only 28 or whatever and has some time ahead to develop still.

Given that the Rams drafted Kendricks it seems like they'd look at him I just don't know if they could afford him if there ends up being competition. If we're lucky he would identify the Rams as the team he wants to play for like Robinson. So there's a chance I'd think, just a slight one.

Big Bradberry fan. Live in NYC and have seen him play a lot; and think he is good in zone and man coverage.

Was hoping the Rams would offer a late-round-pick, and be able to take-on his 2022 salary once the Donald and Kupp extensions were done. Don't see that happening now, with the re-acquisition of Troy Hill.

Bradberry should do really well ($-wise) if he comes free.

We just traded for Hill. If OBJ is to come back and we want to sign a ER like Clowney we're going to need room cap wise. I don't see it happening.....my opinion.

Can never have enough CBs. I'd take him on our team in a heartbeat as our CB 1-3 would be considered amongst if not the best in the NFL.

I don't think it is about the late round pick that impedes Snead it is his huge salary 21m+ I don't know how much Giants are eating if any but we can't afford more than 5-8m my guess with a restructure. Les is saving the restructure for later possibly.

Hard to exactly know what our team will look like without a few games under our belt then spending $ makes sense due to injuries or areas of weakness but to spend our wad now is hard to swallow my guess for Snead.

Sucks because he would be a monsterous upgrade for the defense and help us against TB who has 3 amazing Wes and remember Godwin was out in the playoffs. You can't count on that scenario next year because I believe it comes down to TB and us imo and that who we need to strategize for Bradberry goes a very long way to solving that problem especially with Wagner, Hill and Rapp in the middle focusing on the short passes.

The $21M+ is Bradberry's cap hit to the Giants. His salary is $13.4M.

You're right, that is expensive but it is a one-year commitment; and I would expect Donald's and Kupp's extensions will lower their cap hit to the Rams in the short-term. Those two currently count for more than $45M of the Rams' 2022 cap.

Giants will have a significant amount of dead-$ on Bradberry regardless of whether they release or trade him but, I believe they get a little more cap savings via trade.

It was just a dream. I like Troy Hill and what he brings. Just think Bradberry is really good.

The only way this is likely to happen is if Bradberry could be talked into taking an under market contract for a year to get a shot at winning a Super Bowl.

Agree. I believe with the Rams current investment at CB during the draft and the later UDFA's, then adding Hill to the mix, they are likely pretty happy with how the future at the position is shaping up. Bradberry for a one year team friendly deal would be great for the Rams, although being a time when his ability to sign what may become his final extremely lucrative contract can also provide financial security against an injury issue incurred on a one year deal. I'd be very surprised to see Bradberry in horns any time soon.
jmo.

Going to be tough as shit to even compete with the top 1/4 of teams in cap space. I'd imagine the Saints, Chargers, and Browns go all in on him...

Thank God the Rams are down to 13 million in dead cap space. Goff and Gurley are finally out from under the total. Does anyone remember how much the Rams had in dead cap last year?

And they STILL won the super bowl -lol.

Kind of funny the Giants are cap strapped with roughly the same amount of cap space as we have but we're talking about trying to fit him on the team :D

Giants need a lot of cap space to sign their draft class, which included five players in the top-81.

Yes and no, each player they sign pushes a lower paid guy down out of the top 51. Yes they'll need more for the higher picks but as we all know that's pretty easy to do.

Yeah but ...

Bruss will have a cap-hit a little over $900K, and push a player making a little over $800K off the top-51.

Thibodeaux and Neal will have a combined cap-hit of $10M, and push two $825K players off the top-51.

That's a difference of about $100K vs. $8.4M. It's a big difference.

Yeah, he has a large cap hit. Chiefs were in talks with the Giants about a trade. The problem was the Giants would have to eat part of his cap in order for KC to pull the trigger. They could never agree on that number and talks went silent.

Sounds like there will be some completion for the services of Mr. Bradberry if indeed he is released.
